    600 Points for Arranged Employment

Saying the market is good or bad is a very sensitive topic. We are on a Canada Immigration forum. I didn't want to Alarm people. You really need to be good on paper as a landed immigrant or new grad student to get a good job.

Can I still apply for CEC without Express Entry and get a PR?

See the way it goes is if you are a CEC applicant you still are a CEC applicant. Express Entry isn't a new stream. Its a way you apply. Canada has just changed the way you apply. That is all. So you will still get ITA under CEC only.

Called CIC today and got starnge answer

And Obama is talking about retaining foreign students and Canada won't do the same? PGWP workers get more points anyways. Go look at that stat sheet in the other thread, the people in the upper 400s (470+) are all CEC applicants. The number of people above 470 in that sample of applicants is...

Called CIC today and got starnge answer

Hurray ! the killjoy is back. Your country as aptly as you put it needs those immigrants. Do think what you want to think. PGWP holders working in NOC 0, NOC A, NOC B still will get retained and will get their PRs. I can't believe I am saying this but yes I get what you're saying. A lot of...

PGWP - EE Applicants Please Discuss the situation here

This only means that the company hire these people without worry about anything. This just helps companies fill positions faster because all these people are living in Canada and are looking for jobs so this provision was made to include these people in the pool of people looking for jobs. That...

Loop holes can still be exploited

And these programs have certain skill level criteria?

Loop holes can still be exploited

Okay. This is confusing. CEC is still subject to NOC rules but FSW isn't. Isn't there whole another thread where it was said that NOC skill restrictions were being lifted.

Loop holes can still be exploited

Yes, you are right. But where in this whole system is market conditions playing a factor? If what they are saying is right then that CRS ranking system is the only way your fate is decided.
  18. praneet87

Loop holes can still be exploited

Hmm but isn't it a common pool now? Unless there are picking separately for FSW and CEC this won't be valid right?

Called CIC today and got starnge answer

I understand, but we are all paranoid because things have changed so much, but to the applicant (skilled ones with good experience) there shouldn't be much change. In fact the redundancy has been removed so getting the PR is faster once you get ITA.

Loop holes can still be exploited

Where is the skill getting measured? Everything here is Quantitative and not Qualitative. If there is no skill criteria anyone with 3-4 years of experience in a lower skilled job (book keeping, clerical work etc etc) will have higher points than those with higher skilled work with less...
