    First Rental in Canada

Thanks guys. I have been all over Kijiji and there are great basement ads. The only concern I have is not having a Canadian credit record etc. I guess we just need to find the right landlord that will give us a chance. Thanks for the responses :)

    First Rental in Canada

Hi all, This has probably been asked before but I thought that an updated topic could help. We will be landing in Canada this year (my fiance and her sister is going in June already). They do not have family there, though we do have a friend where we will be staying. But we recently thought of...

Reapply family sponsorship for wife as residency period would not be met

If your wife is not keen to return to Canada, why would you then want PR for her? Just asking. We struggle with serious hurdles due to people that just want PR for the sake of having PR. I don't get it.

Sponsor moving to Canada during outland application to set up

Hi all, I'd like to find out whether anyone can answer me on the following: My fiance (Canadian) and I live and grew up in South Africa. I know that if the sponsor is a citizen, he/she may move to Canada during an outland application. We are roughly 6 months into our application, and were...

I am not satisfied that you have truthfully answered all questions asked of you.... Confused

Apologies. I made another thread thanks. I just emailed the visa office and explained to them just in case. I will probably be asked to update the form (I hope) in stead of being rejected. Honest mistake from my side so I guess they will allow me to rectify it. Enjoy your day!

Quebec Skilled Worker Application: "Membership/Association with organizations"

I went through the same panic today. I was busy cleaning out my closet and came accross student memberships which I did not put in my application. That led me to do some research, and all of the sudden I went into full-blown panic and started do doubt myself in my application. I also remember...

Is entering the DV lottery same as applying for a visa?

Thank you. I have e-mailed my local visa office and explained to them that I think I have made mistakes on the form and asked where I should send updated information. I explained to them that I did not think anything of it at the time of the application, as in my own judgement, it was not...

Is entering the DV lottery same as applying for a visa?

Thank you. I am seriously panicking today for no reason, since I might have made mistakes on my background check form. I also see that I did not mention that I am a part of a student organization, but I remember while I studied there was Golden Key and another membership. The thing is it was not...

Is entering the DV lottery same as applying for a visa?

Hi all, Something that I just thought of is causing me to stress (hopefully I am not wrong). When we applied for sponsorship via family class, one of the forms requested me to state whether I have been refused a visa in the past. I said no, since I have never actually applied and paid for a...

I am not satisfied that you have truthfully answered all questions asked of you.... Confused

Hi, I was wondering whether you can tell me something: Applying for a visa and being refused is different than entering the US DV lottery in the past and not selected right? Because you technically only apply for the visa after you were selected. The first part is simply a 5 minute entry where...

Thanks, so strange that ours went in progress as soon as AOR2 came. Anyway, congrats on PPR!

****SEPTEMBER 2018**** OUTLAND SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP OUTSIDE OF CANADA

Remember to put in 2 under number of people in appliation. Try using your sponsor's UCI when linking GCKey, that worked for me.

****SEPTEMBER 2018**** OUTLAND SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP OUTSIDE OF CANADA

I Nice! If you don't mind me asking, when did your background check go in progress? Mine has been in progress since January, but we are both outside of Canada so I guess it is different. Medical request came in a month after AOR2, and were passed on Friday. We are 6 months in the process...

****SEPTEMBER 2018**** OUTLAND SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP OUTSIDE OF CANADA

Hi there. It only says passed on GCKey. On ECAS, it says that medical results have been received. It only said "received" once it was passed, so I would assume you passed. Why don't you have GCKey?

****SEPTEMBER 2018**** OUTLAND SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP OUTSIDE OF CANADA

Yeah based on my research though, it takes roughly 2 months between medicals passed and DM for principal applicant. Hoping for the same on our application, as I want to be able to have an answer my the end of April so that I can resign my job and move with my fiance in June (she is going in June...

    Common-law Question

Thanks a lot. Yes I honestly hope they can see her proof now. I mean, resigning a job and buying a ticket is no joke. Our application was sent in 6 months ago, so spending 3 months apart is better than 12 I guess. Now I just have to hope and pray that the visa officer does not take too long with...

****SEPTEMBER 2018**** OUTLAND SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP OUTSIDE OF CANADA

That progress bar cracked me up. Asif anyone did not already know the time that has passed and where the 12 month mark is. They can rather add visibility to the process for applicants in stead of a bar that literally just adds 12 months to the date they received the app. Lol

****SEPTEMBER 2018**** OUTLAND SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP OUTSIDE OF CANADA

Same here. Our local viso office takes 6 months on average with other apps, we are on month 6 now and the receptionist at the visa office told me that my application will be handed to the officer only once my medicals are passed. I have no idea what the officer is going to start with after my...
