    Waiting for PR CARD - 2015 / 2016

Correct me if I wrong, but the situation with the urgent processing is applicable only for renewal of pr car, not for the first one. Therefore there is no way to expedite it.

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2014

Yes, Etobicoke was my landing office. Everything went very smooth. They took my pictures, checked passport and sponsor's id. Asked me basic 3 questions (don't remember exactly, but I think it was smth about if I had any dependents, if I had ever been rejected entry and if I committed crime in...

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2014

Well, for my case it took them 4 months from the request for additional proofs until I heard back. But I've seen some cases when people received their DM after 30 days. Basically, you are looking for smh between 30-120 days in general.

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2014

My information might be a little outdated (I landed in February), but according to call centre agent at that time, Etobicoke office is obligated to send the landing interview invitation within a month. After that time you can call the call centre and they will send the request to Etobicoke...

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2015

Before (a year ago) this "second" AOR meant that the information was input into ecas. At the same time on sponsor's part it appears "started processing of the application on..'' . The only meaningful thing about this AOR is that your application is deemed complete and will definitely not be returned

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2014

I brought all the documents to the interview, but the agent never asked/checked any of them. I would suggest to bring them just in case

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2015

When you say "visitor visa" do you actually mean your travel visa or you mean 6-months duration of visitor status? If you maintained visitor status, you can apply for open work permit any time, no need to wait.

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2014

Right after your landing you will be redirected to another "window" to update your sin number. The one you have now, starts with 9, the permanent one (you'll get on landing) will start form 5. Just bring a proof of your current number to your landing interview and they will update it right away...

costco card proof of common law and how you organize the proof of relationship

Not sure about the costco card, don't really know how it works...but as for the joint account, yes, it will be a good proof. Also you can provide copies of your driver's licenses with the same address (if applicable) and tax documents where it will show that you filled taxes as common law, not...

    Ordering GCMS Notes

I really feel that you can use Privacy act only for your (sponsor's) part of info. If you want to get your wife's file, you'll have to use Access to Information Act: Note: Personal information which belongs to an individual who is not a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident of Canada or...

    Ordering GCMS Notes

There is no difference between the notes ordered under different acts. However, if you order only sponsors/applicants part, the notes will be different (this again don't depend on the act you're using)

    Ordering GCMS Notes

I might be wrong, cause my situation was different (both of us were in Canada), but I think that you can get notes of your (sponsorship) part of the application for free under Privacy Act. As for your wife, she is not pr or citizen and she is not in Canada, therefore you will have to order the...

    Ordering GCMS Notes

Same site. When the system asks you under which law/act are you ordering the notes, you have an option to use Privacy Act or Access to information act. If you use the first one, it is free, for the second one you need to pay 5 dol. But the problem is that the Privacy act is applicable only if...

    Ordering GCMS Notes

Just to add, if the person is residing in Canada, under Privacy Act he/she can order notes for free.

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2014

Yes, you can pay it on the spot. The only thing is they don't accept cash, cheques or money orders, only cards (not prepaid ones). But this is specifically for Etobicoke. not sure for other offices.

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2014

Yes, they do say what to bring. In my letter it was mentioned to bring my passport, a picture id for sponsor (drivers licence was ok), two pictures and a receipt of payment of RPRF.Also I would advice to bring your old sin, they will issue you a permanent one right after your landing, just in a...

    What happens next?

It should be like that, but not always. I agree with Mightytonewheel, getting an AOR doesn't mean that the application won't be returned. From my own experience, the whole application was sent back a week after AOR.

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2014

For me it took 16 months since the application was received. And around 8 months after on ecas it said "we started processing of your application on..". I wouldn't rely too much on what is written in ecas
