I would start by emailing them back, usually they will respond in 2-3 days. I would tell them that your husband has not resided at any time in the US so you are unsure as to why they require a police check, and just confirm. It is not beyond them to make mistakes, no harm in confirming.

Spouse sponsorship - Inland vs Outland and accompany immediately ***HELP NEEDED*

Firstly, apply for the Visitor visa, that will make your decision for you. If she gets approved, go ahead with your plan to apply inland, knowing that she will need to apply for extensions through the process, until you receive AIP (approval in principal)/OWP (open work permit). As far as the...

Hi Joey, Did you apply inland or outland? The CIC page here http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm-fc.asp gives you a general idea of Sponsor assessment times. You should expect AOR along with the sponsorship approval typically, so these times are a good estimation. If nothing...

NO Option C Printout Notice of Assessment ? HELP please.

I would firstly deal with your employment situation. If you are new to Canada, I think they would want to see that you are supporting yourself. Have you called the CRA call centre and spoken to anyone? I believe if they give you a timeline, it is typically the maximum. Most things usually...

Anyone watch the show boarder security? What really makes me mad - a Mexican escort, who has come to canada many times... What? How does she get a TRV??? She doesn't even have a job at home! A Mexican man who had been deported from the US, shows up with traces of cocaine on all his...

If you have citizenship here - go home and wait if you can afford to. It's only another 8-10 months for you likely- I know it sounds like forever, but it will come :(

My husband and I applied for a working Holiday Visa, a youth exchange program between Canada and 23 countries, including Mexico. We got approved through the International Experience Canada Office in Mexico City at the Embassy, only to then be refused by a visa officer. "Current Financial...

It will do that to everyone, it's normal! We can't afford decent call centre lines apparently in any Canadian Services offices. Just call again and again and again, usually within 20 minutes you'll get through, and then wait on hold for like 30 minutes.

So received an email from Mexico VO today! (why is it always late Friday afternoon so we have to wait until Monday to get things done? Ohhhh the suspense!) As some of you may have read, my husband has 2 estranged children whom he has not known the location of since about 3 years ago. Of course...

If you see mine, it took 2 months and 2 days, from SA and transfer to AOR from Mexico VO. But once they start, things can move along quickly and many people are getting finished within a few months of AOR from the Mexican VO, so hang in there everyone, you're probably nearly half way there!

I know it's tough and doesn't seem fair but it may be nothing to do with you. We have people a month behind us that got 2 months ahead during SA because of a CIC Mistake. And some people just get done in record time that makes no sense, while others get delayed months back for no good reason...

It will likely take a month or 2 before you hear anything from the Mexican VO. If you check out the spreadsheet or people's profile timelines you will get a general idea. They do not usually just send an AOR, it will come along with additional information requests or police requests, of course...

    Depression, Stress, Anxiety, Uncertainty

My husband is also in Mexico - so I fell your pain. It can be a real strain on your relationship - the emotional toll of this process and the waiting and uncertainty. Though we try not to get ahead of ourselves, we are progressing through the process, it will go by faster than you think :)...

    Starting the process - help!

Hi Lauralee, I would suggest you apply outland, now yes you have to be apart, but the process is quicker. There is a new OWP program for inland applicants but I'm not sure if anyone has actually seen a open work permit yet, so I'll let one of them answer because I am outland so that's what I...
