Ray of Hope - 149th Draw - CEC

It's not about having a greater right. It's just that in this moment. People already in Canada with jobs and everything have a better chance of success than people outsider. During a massive recession it helps to have contacts and to know people. But i also think that they should figure out how...

I agree. During the fall they will probably lower the numbers a bit. But like you said. It doesn't change the fact that Canada needs people. The government has kept talking about the importance of it in agriculture for instance. I think next year might be a down year, but then back at in 2022...

Ray of Hope - 149th Draw - CEC

The other person that I quoted first said there would be one. I also don't think that FSW are directly affected by that, or border closures. I think it's probably more towards CEC already being in the country. It's so much easier to just tell people already here to stay and keep working with...

There won't be a vaccine to pay for. To say that there will be vaccines available for the masses at new years is not looking at the reality of the situation. Even if there is a vaccine in existence, which is far from certain, it will take months and to get the necessary doses. I never said FSW...

Unfortunately herd immunity and vaccine is going to take a lot longer than end of 2020. Even if we have a vaccine by that point, drug companies are talking about having a few million doses available. For a world of 7.5 billion people, it will take a long time before we are back to normal...

I would go the other way too. It takes a long time to actually arrive in Canad after getting an ITA. I don't think short term border closures have anything to do with it.

I'm at 444. Been living in canada for over a year and a half in total now. Really hope I get invited so I don't have to leave. Good luck!

Some cec people need it to, if they didn't study in Canada.

It has already been 2 months, and it has not exactly skyrocketed yet.

They have been saying that since the first cec only draw

Ray of Hope - 149th Draw - CEC

Possibly. Though I highly doubt it. It wouldn't really make sense to switch to cec only, and then switch back to all stream draws before we even see what the first stage of opening up does. And with a second wave coming as well this fall and winter. It'd impossible to say. But at the same time...

You probably need 2 more draws. So probably around June 14th

I remember a few weeks ago when the US shut down immigration. And the gang of negativity(probably actually only one or 2 people with many accounts) was sure that Canada would be next. That immigration would be stopped immediately. Since then we've had multiple draws and thousands of people have...

Ray of Hope - 149th Draw - CEC

I don't think cec draws have anything to do with the border being closed. As that really wouldn't matter in the time it will take to process the visa anyway. I think it is mainly because it's easier to integrate if you have already lived in Canada for a year. And they want people with the best...

Ray of Hope - 149th Draw - CEC

While yes. It is luck in a way that cec get invited. Also remember that many people, like me are cec candidates. But also currently working in Canada. And are losing months on our visas right now without work. But we also have lives here in some ways. We have friends, a place to live in, a...

Ray of Hope - 149th Draw - CEC

Well all that. And you have to time that with a global pandemic that shuts down travel worldwide. And that slows the economy down for years to come. I wouldn't really call that "all you have to do"

Ray of Hope - 149th Draw - CEC

That's how I see it. I'm currently losing 2-3 months of work on my one year visa. And that sucks. But it can hopefully lead to being here forever

Plan how? I don't think the IRCC wants you to plan anything before you are actually invited. So nothing changes really

Ray of Hope - 149th Draw - CEC

Society might not be normal for years. Canada is much more cautious than other countries right now. Many cec are also people who are already in Canada. So they don't have to travel

Most likely no. Everything points to continued cec draws. Both alberta and Ontario have very recently started only inviting people in Canada. Canadian experience seems to be highly valued right now.
