Medical Exam for Express Entry invitees

You can do your medical with any CIC approved panel physician, so yes, you can do your medical in Egypt. The physician will send the results to the CIC. Some doctors send the report by mail, though increasingly they are using the eMedical system to send the results digitally.

Anyone planning to land in north portal?

Presumably, you want to go to North Portal to do your landing. If so, take note that you can do your landing at various CIC offices, e.g. the office in Saskatoon. Just call them to book an appointment. They will most likely take your information and let you know that they will contact you once...

Police check for vacation of <5 months

I'm going to spitball a few thoughts and possible options... Realistically, calling the CIC wasn't going to achieve too much. The operators aren't the best at giving generic answers, let alone something that is case specific. I can't imagine they're allowed to suggest that an actual visa...

    BOWP Online application and MyCIC

I believe I have answered your question elsewhere on the forum. Go back to the 'Come to Canada' questionnaire. When presented with the question 'Do you have a written job offer?', answer NO. A written job offer refers to the LMIA process, which you are not part of. Answer no and you should be...

BOWP - How many of you have applied and received it successfully?

Source: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/temp/work/prov/bridging.asp For CEC, 'positive eligibility assessment' means that an AOR was received. You may notice that there is absolutely no mention of LMIA's in the above, because they're not required. Tell your friend to use the 'Come...

    BOWP Online application and MyCIC

My house mate got his a couple of weeks ago, having applied online. The application was processed as per the times given on the CIC website. I'm pretty active on this forum and haven't heard of anyone getting their online application refused due to system errors/glitches. I suspect the online...

Yes you can apply for the BOWP online. Use the questionnaire linked below to get to the relevant application package. You should be able to get a joint package for you and your wife. Once you've completed the questionnaire it will give you the opportunity to apply for an 'Open Work Permit'...

    1 Year work experience

It doesn't matter if the qualifying work is under multiple NOC codes, or if there are breaks between the work. You still need to have completed 52 weeks of full time work within the previous 3 years (or equivalent part time work). http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/cec/apply-who.asp

    CoPR for Visa Exempt Countries?

I can only speak from experience with Canadian Experience Class, but I'd be surprised if it was different. My COPR arrived by regular mail a couple of weeks after my ECAS status updated to 'Decision Made'.

    Express entry applicant from Jamaica

Howdy Kerry, The process looks daunting to begin with, but with some reading you'll learn to understand things yourself. If you have the luxury of money to spend on an immigration lawyer then obviously it's an option. That said, there are heaps of people in these forums who can answer any...

    1 Year work experience

You need to complete a calendar year of full time work. The CIC will accept a couple of missing weeks providing you were employed and on paid vacation at the time. 30 hours or 70 hours worked in a week, it still counts as just a week to the CIC.

Is Proof of funds required if we do not have Arranged employment while landing

Source: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/funds.asp You need C$14,853 for two family members. In theory, you will be required to demonstrate that you have those funds available. You're only excluded if you are already sponsored and working in Canada (with an LMO/LMIA).
