Tracking June 2015 Citizenship Application - Please Share your Timeline

Yes, nothing to do with CIC but because you're required to change it with ICBC, HealthBC, etc. However, if there's a discrepancy in addresses (e.g. your e-CAS shows your new one but your IDs don't match it), CIC may get suspicious and inquire on that. I applied for citizenship with an address...

    CBSA Do not request statement

Maybe, I don't know. In my case it didn't matter at all, and as you can see from my signature things have been going pretty smooth and the only step missing is the oath. I barely have any entry stamps into Canada, didn't have an issue in my interview. The officer asked me if I go to the US...

    CBSA Do not request statement

I'm not sure what you're confused about my case, care to elaborate? Also, just a reminder that the above comments of mine are from May, a few weeks before I sent in my citizenship application. I actually never received my report. I got a call from CBSA a day before my test and an e-mail...

when do they usually update ecas? is it only Tuesday ?

It can be updated at any point during the week, including weekends (the officer will have added the information day(s) before, though). Totally off-topic, but... Are you Brazilian? I've met (online only, though — through a group called "MMC") a Brazilian lady living in Calgary with the same...

Question during interview: did you have any issues with immigration or customs ?

It could be general, but I'd have asked the officer to clarify. That's what I did when I was asked an ambiguous question.

Citizenship test Oct 5th , How to prepare in one week?

Try to stay calm. The test isn't hard. :) When I went for my test they said it'd be 4-8 weeks to be scheduled for a 2nd test if anyone failed the 1st one, but that was in Vancouver. Interview with Citizenship Judge isn't needed until the applicant has failed twice (there are other reasons why a...

    Vancouver Oath Timeline after Test/Interview

Mostly mail, but sometimes e-mail. At my interview, the Citizenship Officer told me to keep an eye on both my physical mailbox as well as my e-mail inbox because the oath invitation could be sent either way, and that they're still trying things out so even if one got AOR and test invitation via...

Vancouver is also very fond of e-mail test invitations. 8) Congrats, and good luck.

Mississauga applicants how long from test til "Decision Made"?

Amen. I'm not a Mississauga applicant, but my status changed after 6 days. I'm not expecting the oath to be soon, but I'd very much like if it happened (to me and to all others). :D

TEL AVIV-2015 Outland Spousal Sponsorship Applicants

Breathe in, breathe out... We still have Sukkot and Shemini Atzeret to go. Look at the bright side, though: you're in Israel, you don't have the extra day we have in chutz la'Aretz. :P (I'm here just as a lurker, saw this thread at the top, and perhaps one day I'll also be sponsoring an...

non-routine status after missing first test appointment

They have been sending out test invitations by e-mail to many of those who have provided their e-mail address for a number of months now, and in some cases even oath. In my interview the officer told me to keep an eye on my physical mailbox as well as my e-mail inbox because they could send me...

Spousal sponsorship and PR application for Brazilian

Since she won't be technically living with you but rather visiting (because she won't be a PR just yet), you can just list her mailing address as your address in Canada, and residential address as the one in Brazil. That's what people generally do, and that's what I did. And when they were ready...

Spousal sponsorship and PR application for Brazilian

Yes, I did understand from your first post that she's going to be in Canada on a tourist-basis, which is why I worded things the way I did: "It's extremely rare for São Paulo to request interviews, especially if the person being sponsored lives with the sponsor (even if on a tourist visa thus...

Spousal sponsorship and PR application for Brazilian

It's extremely rare for São Paulo to request interviews, especially if the person being sponsored lives with the sponsor (even if on a tourist visa thus technically just visiting and not living). Just explain it. I doubt they'll be unreasonable and cause you further difficulties because of...

    Strange questions during citizenship interview

ScubaC, I hope you are feeling better. It is important that you continue receiving treatment (or start, if you've never sought treatment) for your trauma. I know first-hand that the cost can sometimes be prohibitive, but some psychologists may offer a sliding scale for the treatment, and...

Tracking June 2015 Citizenship Application - Please Share your Timeline

I'd recommend you let CIC know of your trip well in advance, so they'll know not to send you a test invitation for those dates. Even after informing CIC, some people still received test invitation for when they were away so it's not a perfect solution but it's something that could help.
