    June 2014 - CEC applications

Thanks for the information, that is very helpful. My situation is a bit difficult - I left the country with my stuff stored at a friend's garage, nothing valuable just personal items like clothes and some light furniture, I guess they are not accompanying items nor "other items to come"? Also...

I am doing my landing next week though I got my CoPR in Nov last year. Can you share how much details I should provide for "other items to come"? Do I have to prepare a list before or just fill in the form at the border? Thanks a lot!

Leaving the country shortly after landed?

By updating the SIN number, does it mean that I will become a taxation resident even I don't work in Canada during the year?

Leaving the country shortly after landed?

If I am able to find cheap tickets to Toronto, I would prefer to land at YYZ so that the landing process won't affect other passengers (comparing to taking bus from Buffalo). However, if I still want to make a trip to New York, at that time I will be a landed immigrant, can I come back to...

    Am I a non-resident?

I was holding a work permit and worked in Canada between Jan-Apr last year, and I left in May. That means I stayed in Canada for less than 183 days in 2015. I don't have any vehicle/property in Canada, except for a bank account. After leaving Canada, I started working in a country where Canada...

many thanks for the reply. i got another question now, if i return to Canada for good in Aug/Sept this year. I will not be able to stay in Canada for at least 183 days, that means the days i spent in the country in 2016 will not be counted towards citizenship? Also, what will be my taxation...

Leaving the country shortly after landed?

Because of work commitment, I can only take one week off to do my landing before my CoPR expires in April. I know someone on this forum have done this before, but I want to make sure I get everything right. Here are my concerns: 1. The city of destination on my CoPR is Vancouver, if I am...

I moved to UK too! But my CoPR was sent to my Canadian address, since I wasn't sure if I will stay here so I didn't change my address. Meanwhile I have sent my photos and passport copy to Canada House, but still haven't got back from them. I am not sure what they are going to send back to me...

Any visa-exempt applicants asked to send passport copies before CoPR?

Hi I am from Hong Kong and visa-exempt but received passport request last week. (probably they thought I am holding China passport) After sending email to CPC-Ottawa for clarification, they replied that I don't have to send passport, but send photocopies instead. Yesterday I received another...

Just call CIC hotline, the agent confirmed that I don't need a visa. I can either send the passport anyway and attach an explanation letter saying that I am visa-exempt or email CPC-CTD-Ottawa and wait for further instruction. I chose the latter since I am currently out of the country.
