I'm not worried about the status in eCas (I know it isn't reliable), I'm worried about the fact they didn't touch our file since it got transferred to Ankara. They did N.O.T.H.I.N.G!

I would say they didn't touch it yet. My husband is missing a police certificate from his country of citizenship (there is a good reason for that), but there is not even a note about it. The only things we know is that the paper file is in Ankara, that they received the CSQ and that the medical...

Some people also get "In Process" much sooner than others. Our file is just sitting in Ankara, with nothing being done on it. I would prefer seeing our status change from "Received" to "In Process" than receiving my notes quicker, really!

24 pages, but nothing has been started, not even criminality. Just medical was passed. No interesting notes, except a mistake they made. The length also depends on the size of the family: parents? dependents?

I just got my notes. I sent my email on Nov. 8 (Thursday night), but it was opened on Nov. 13 (Tuesday morning). The notes were generated today (Nov. 27). It took them 14 days to process my request. Please note that security and background checks haven't been started yet, so they didn't have to...

I just want to understand your point well: are you in favour of a major reduction in immigration levels?

    Spousal sponsorship

This looks like a stupid copy/paste mistake. They simply forgot to change the second occurrence of the visa office location in the last paragraph. Maybe they also forgot to change the date. This shows you they send the same email to everyone contacting them about a specific case. You can assume...

If you cut positions of people offering service to the population, chances are that you'll not be able to offer as much service as you used to offer. Everyone can easily understand that, except maybe the ones who made those... uh... let's say questionable... decisions.

Not good news, just the sad truth about what's going on at CIC.

Last spring, CIC cut 75 call centre agent positions. Then, they were just able to answer 9% of the 30,000 calls they receive daily. They had to re-hire 30 agents, so that they could answer 40% of the daily calls. Their actual target is to answer 80% of the calls. Immigration lawyers were asked...

And the next time, it'll be about visa processing times... if you don't mind my taking breaks for communicating with the journalist working on this ;)

It is that exact attitude towards the public service that led to thousands of job cuts in the last months... and to a serious increase in the processing times.

First thing, I am stuck in the same boat as you all. Second thing, I already contacted Radio-Canada. Third thing, I work for the Government (no, not CIC), so I have a very good idea of the situation and the mood in the public service since the last budget. I would never bash on the operational...

I have the previous and current processing times for all VOs on my desk right now. Two (2) of them improved (Abu Dhabi, HongKong); fifteen (15) of them kept the same times; the remaining twenty-seven (27) have seen their processing times increase. Bashing Ankara is far from being the right...

Amman and Beirut processing times also increased, from 19 to 20 months and from 17 to 19 months respectively, as well as for most of VO in Europe and Americas. Only very few of them have seen their processing time decreased. Something is clearly wrong with the whole system, it's not only Ankara.

    police certificates from Turkey

It seems that instructions on CIC Web site are not up to date. I strongly suggest that you follow the (English!) instructions provided by the government of Turkey: www.adlisicil.adalet.gov.tr/yurtdisi.html Police certificates can be obtained in 5 minutes, for 5 TL, when requested in person in...
