    April 2012 applicants, join here.

Things are finally moving a little bit with our file! My husband is required to go for an interview on February 4. Could someone update the spreadsheet accordingly? Thanks!

It's the differences between the two of us that might seem weird to Ankara, not the way we met. Let's say we didn't pass the cultural norms! But hey, who are they to judge? Unfortunately, they are the ones granting visas... or not :-\

Seriously, I don't know where this interview is taking place in the processing of our case. Our story is so weird! He's a Turkmen from Afghanistan and has been living in Turkey for the last 6 years. I'm a Quebecer and have travelled a few times to Istanbul. I met him on my first trip. I met him...

Yes, he can go back to Afghanistan, try to get a tazkira, and then a police certificate, but who wants to travel to a country having such a travel notice: AVOID ALL TRAVEL (http://travel.gc.ca/destinations/afghanistan) ?? I know Canada says the same about Iran and that a lot of you have...

It will not be that easy because he's still missing a police certificate from Afghanistan (a long story). CIC won't change their mind: he has to do everything to get an official document from Afghanistan, be it a police certificate or a document explaining why he can't get it, but he needs...

Nothing new in eCase. Even worse: they didn't let me know he has an interview (I am also his representative). It's like they wanted to make sure we communicate with each other! That's almost insulting...

There's an update in my case! My husband is required to go for an interview on February 4th! We were expecting it as there are many differences between us (culture, age, education), but we are ready. Looks like Ankara woke up with the New Year :-)

As long as it will take. Every case is different.

Then meant files older than mine, not the oldest files, but my point is that MANY newer files are already in process. They were somehow telling me files are processed in the order they were received, but thanks to this forum, I have the proof it's not always true. For the record, they replied to...

It doesn't go quicker for people in Quebec, believe me! I'm in Quebec, my husband is in Turkey, CIC received our application in April 2012, and no one in Ankara ever touched our file yet, except when I forced them to answer very specific questions about a missing police certificate from...

If you already paid the Right of Permanent Residence Fee (i.e. if you paid $1,040 when you sent your application), you will not receive this letter.

You will quickly discover that most people dealing with Ankara VO are Iranians, but you'll also meet a few from other countries: Georgia, Azerbaijan, Afghanistan. Actually, there are not a lot of Turks on this forum.

    Ankara Spousal Sponsorship 2012 Applicants

There is already an active thread for Ankara, it was started last June: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/ankara-visa-office-applicants-check-in-here-t107669.0.html We won't get more organized if we keep posting in two (or three) different threads and try maintaining...

We simply assume it is the date the sponsorship was approved. If your file was transferred from Damascus to Ankara, the best way for you to know the information about the dates is to order your GCSM notes (electronic file).

Simply because the office didn't finalized 10 or more cases in the past 12 months, as stated at the bottom of the page.

I think you are looking at the days (04, 12) in his timeline, not at the months (11-2011, 01-2012)!

Medical results are normally valid for a year, but they badly input the month (03 instead of 04), so we were losing a full month of validity. There is also a mysterious note about a mistake on form IMM1017.

Since I found one or two mistakes in the notes, I already wanted to send them an email. I hope they'll fix the problems and get back to me. I'll order the notes again to see if the mistakes have been fixed. Oh dear!

Our file is not in process. The paper file arrived in Ankara on July 30, the CSQ (Certificat de sélection du Québec) was received mid-August, and the medical has been passed. Period. They didn't start anything else. Oh, and they decided the medical test results would just be good for 11...
