    US outland applicants' thread :)

So, it seems like Ottawa people are getting COPR approximately 3 weeks after DM. I guess I'll resume stalking the mail person next week; expecting it this week may be a bit premature. Congrats to everyone landing this week! :P

Congrats, jamsham. Where'd they send your COPR to city-wise? You had to wait quite a few weeks for it. Hope your landing goes smoothly!

Thanks for this heads up, Currito. I am planning on driving down to the Peace Bridge this weekend (hoping my COPR shows up this week). I wish I could just head up to YYZ and do it, but I'm already in Canada and buying a plane ticket to fly out and then back seems a bit like a waste. I'll...

Nope. Never. I just wonder how much information they really have at their fingertips if at all. I think they always just turn to the page with my July stamp and ask if that was the last time I was there. It's opens to that page rather naturally. Sounds like the border crossings are more stringent.

You know every time I've come into Canada via Toronto-Pearson Airport, they always ask me, "Oh, you were last here in July?" I visited Canada in July 2014, and I have been back and forth over half a dozen times since then, usually for 2+ months at a time. Every time I get to customs, however...

    MAY 2015 Spouse Application OUTLAND

That's really odd. I had the same email last month. I included a hydro bill, pay stub, employment letter (that I included with the application to begin with) and copy of our lease for my spouse.

You're from FL, too? Hey-o! Sunshine State here, too. (And moving to Toronto as well I see? I like that we're moving from the warmest state to one of the coldest cities in North America.) Technically every state does their order of courses differently; it's varies depending on where you live in...

Thanks! I'm deliberating if I want to call or just wait (im)patiently and see if it shows up. I appreciate it!

Hey, jamsham. So, if I'm reading your post correctly, they sent out your COPR 2 weeks after you saw DM on ecas?

    2015 April-Outland spousal application

I depends on if she's from a visa-exempt country as to whether or not she'll get a PPR request or COPR. What country is she coming from?

    2015 April-Outland spousal application

If you weren't asked for more info or an interview, it's more than likely it was approved. Congrats!

I have a feeling you and I both will just come home to the COPR one day. I don't have an additional line about correspondence either, so I have no idea if and when they sent my COPR. I may call tomorrow to see if they sent anything. We'll see! :P

Then you should be okay. Definitely go in there and be honest, and look for some questions ahead of time and go over them. If there's a silver lining here, it's that you'll know soon after the interview if the application is approved or denied, and you can move on to hopefully start your lives...

    2015 April-Outland spousal application

It's not necessarily a good thing that they requested an interview. They obviously feel like they need more information to determine the legitimacy of the relationship. Still, it's not the end of the world if you go into it prepared and truthful. There are threads here that have information...

Agreed, that or give us an option to pay an extra $10 to ensure that happens. What do they do with Passports they send back? ::shudder:: I've already had some less than great experiences with Canada Post. I'm wondering how mangled it'll be . . .

Realistically, any time there are holidays, there's a chance that things slow down. That being said, I personally wouldn't wait to submit an application. By the time summer comes around, an application submitted in the Fall/Winter would already be approved, and waiting to submit at a later date...

The medical doesn't have to be sent with the application, but most of us would recommend it to avoid any potential delays. Congrats on getting near the finish line!

extremely negative rant.. consider yourself warned!

Could it at all be possible that an officer put the application back IP because the RPRF wasn't paid? (I'm not saying that it's standard operating procedure, but a mistake on their part.) I know I'm likely reaching, but I'm trying to figure out why on earth they'd think to move it back to IP...
