    Age Discrimination.

Hey, tdguy. So, technically, age difference of a large number is a red flag for the CIC, but it doesn't automatically mean that you'll be denied. It sounds like you have ample evidence to prove your relationship, not to mention it is genuine. You've been together for 4 years. You're married...

    Employment question

If you were a week between jobs, I wouldn't include them. If there were months between jobs, then I would include it. Hope that helps.

    US outland applicants' thread :)

Does anyone in Ontario know if you can apply for a SIN and register for OHIP at the same time when you go to a Service Canada building? I'm hoping I can kill two birds with one stone after I flagpole at the Rainbow bridge. (I've also gathered that there's no ability to apply for a SIN at the...

Hang in there. Your application could very well (and likely is) in someone's hands right now. Sending out positive vibes that your officer is particularly adroit and issues your COPR soon.

I want to punch everyone in this email that has essentially proved worthless for you. Crossing my fingers that someone who reads this has a soul and will help you out here. Any chance there's a neighboring MP near you who actually will help you? To say they'll only touch it after a year is...

Confused, like Rugrat said, don't do a medical unless specifically asked. The officers will have the ability to override and extend a medical for an additional year if they feel COPR will be issued to close to expiration or if the medical has expired while in the hands of the CIC. I think...

    MAY 2015 Spouse Application OUTLAND

Hey, fruitball. Did the email also ask for the RPRF, medicals, etc. or is it solely for FBI? I read that someone else had this happen to them on a thread here; I'll have to look and see who it was. They sent their report in weeks prior, and still got an email like this. Let me see if I can't...

It depends. What's your citizenship? If your country is visa-exempt, you'll get COPR right in the mail. Congrats, extreme!

A few short questions for outland sponsorship

Hey, JR. 1. Nope. Just the applicant looking for PR. 2. Only the person getting PR, e.g. your spouse, need a medical. 3. I would definitely do the medical close to when you are getting ready to submit, yes. Make sure you book it in advance. Some doctors take longer to get in to see than...

    MAY 2015 Spouse Application OUTLAND

James, was it an email that was specifically asking for just the FBI clearance, or was it the batch email with requests for RPRF, medical, police certificates, and proof of residency?

Yes, it will be MUCH faster in Ottawa. Complicated cases are sent to LA. Your application being sent to Ottawa should mean you'll see DM between 6-8 months on average.

Thanks! I was wondering how exactly we handle CBSA once we have PR. That answers it. I don't know if I'll apply for Canadian citizenship in the future, else this would be an easy decision; it depends on where my spouse can find a tenure job at a university. Odds are better in the US given the...
