This lmo is for 2174 (software developer). I am sure lmo processing is only closed for food industry.

I would like to know different steps in LMO and their time lines. Lmo was applied on Apr 9 and service canada contacted employer(confirming company details) this week. Is it slow or fast? And what are the next steps?

I think I got answers for both 1. 11 months appx (CIC website suggests to apply TFW parallel with FSW) 2. My employer does not take care of fee but supports in the legal procedure. Thx

Yes. The ban might get lifted. They might tighten the rules of lmo process and tfw process. Regarding the food... What I meant was if they have hire Canadians for indian restaurants in so many restaurants in canada (as tfw is banned in fast food industry), its difficult to train Canadians. But...

I don't think that the ban will be extended to high skilled jobs like engineering, IT or doctors. They might target low skilled jobs, but it will have serious impact on economy. I personally think they will not do that. The opposition parties are also demanding ban only on tfw of low skilled...

You do not have to apply for LMO. Instead, if you get job, the employer would do that. Try searching for it in job bank website. Workbc.ca is another job site where you can filter jobs available under tfw. All the best

LMO just launched on April 9(noc 2174 for bc). So waiting has just begun. I am sure this would take at least 4 months. But I am hopeful that some steps would be taken up in next month for fastening the LMO process as announced by Mr Minister.

Tough time man. The new rule clearly say that employer should not stop advertising till a LMO is issued. Lots of changes that keeps employers and employees on edge. :o
