    Changing Name After Sponsorship

I don't think it makes much of a difference, but I'm curious why you think it would make things easier with IDs? I have a long name too (two middle names and my surname is long), has never given me any problems. Really, only my driver's license and passport have my full name on it. My health...

Hey that's fantastic!! Good luck with the rest of the process :)

    Common Law Cohabitation Proof

I don't think that your living situation would qualify as common law, only staying with him over weekends and holidays wouldn't be considered living "in a marriage-like state" imo (though someone else with more experience might be able to weigh in). I would suggest getting married so he can...

    Whatsapp chat or screenshots?

My husband exported the last 6 months (at the time) of our WhatsApp chats and it was 800+ pages. We picked out a few recent important convos that each took up a page (discussing some wedding plans, me buying a car, talking as we were heading out to see one another), and combined that with a few...

    Spouse visa

Step 5 for both the basic and complete guide have the same info that tells you to put N/A where family or given names are not on passports. Both guides also tell you that you'll need to write N/A in anything that you need to leave blank.

    JUNE 2019 *OUTLAND* SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP

It can be either, but it can only be linked to one account at a time. We decided that my husband (the PA) would be the one to link GCKey since it will give updates about biometrics and medicals etc, and I (the sponsor) would check ECAS with my details since I was able to see both sponsor and PA...

    Spouse visa

Which bits are you finding contradictory? Maybe someone here can clarify for you. We read through the basic guide, but had the complete guide open as we filled in the forms and just made our way through methodically that way. The checklist also provides a lot of info on when photocopies will...

    APRIL 2019 *OUTLAND* SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP

Are you using the right forms? The spousal sponsorship checklist and guides have the addresses on there. Sydney is indeed the place to send outland sponsorship applications, but there are two slightly different addresses - one for regular mail, and one for using a courier service.

    MAY 2019 *OUTLAND* SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP

It won't show up at all in ECAS or GCKey, you only ever get notified by email. So it doesn't matter whether you linked or not, the sponsor will still get an email about it. I dunno why they have so many different ways to tell you slightly different information :P but yeah, there'll be an email...

    *******MARCH 2019 OUTLAND SPOUSAL SLONSORSHIP*****

Awesome! As lccliff said, the general understanding is that it means they've at least finished up with your partner's eligibility check. From my observations on the forum, people typically get DM a few weeks later, up to maybe 2 months. But I have a feeling that this varies with VO (like most...

    Question About Refusal

Yeah I was talking about the sponsor being denied rather than the whole application, I didn't word it that clearly.

    Question About Refusal

Sponsorship denial, as I understand it, is pretty rare. I'm certain that as long as he isn't on welfare at the time of submitting the application, his previously being on welfare isn't going to get him rejected. There's no minimum income requirement for spousal sponsorship, so as long as he has...

    inland spousal sponsorship invteview

I think you're worried because the interview is not standard for outland sponsorship. But a landing interview is completely normal for inland sponsorship. Read through your letter, there's no mention of needing to bring additional proof or anything like that. They just need a few important...

    Biometric Request

She can certainly try! Just remember that there are never any guarantees about entry/re-entry into a country, even with a visa. So just be prepared for that. But if all goes well and she's able to get into the US and return to Canada, they won't have any problems with her giving the biometrics...

    Updated forms

Where possible, it's always best to use the most up-to-date forms. If you don't have enough room for your work history on the form, you can write it up on a separate sheet and include that. We had to do this for my husband's family on the IMM 5406 form, he has 2 siblings and 2 half-siblings, so...

UK Copr Via Email or Mail?

Not exactly, as I said in the first portion of the letter they tell you to update them if there's been any changes to your situation. You also have to include a self-addressed envelope with your packet, but I'm not sure how they'd feel if the address you put on the envelope is different from...

UK Copr Via Email or Mail?

Really couldn't tell you! But to answer your other message, yes he's a British citizen. They will ask you to send a photocopy of your passport ID page, a printout of the letter with some forms at the back filled in, and two photos. They asked him to send it to the VO in London, though we were...

UK Copr Via Email or Mail?

Nope, outland! I live in Canada, but husband is currently in the UK. Oh yeah, might be some time before it updates then, but as I said there's an email address with the PPR letter so if it hasn't updated by the time you receive yours, you could give that a try.

UK Copr Via Email or Mail?

We are UK applicants, got PPR last week. The COPR is a physical document and is issued by post. Have you checked on ECAS to see whether or not the address has updated? On our PPR letter it included an email address to directly notify them of any changes to our situation, including address.

    JUNE 2019 *OUTLAND* SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP

GCKey can be tricky, and the thing that throws most people is that for the number of people on the application, you must include the sponsor. So on our application, I was only sponsoring my husband, no dependents, which meant that the number of people on the application was 2. We got it wrong a...
