To those who also made bad decision by using Canada Post: I received update today saying - "Our tracking system indicates an 'out for delivery' scan for this item on: 2015/01/05. Because the addressee is considered a large-volume mail receiver, we consider this scan as confirmation of final...

For those of you who chose Credit Card as payment option, did you inform your Credit Card company about this upcoming charge? It's not huge amount so I haven't done so, but wondered if the Credit Card company may decline the charge for whatever reason? Credit limit is not a concern of course.

Given the amount of work, I'd expect it takes them 2-3 weeks to sort out who's eligible who's not? Great news that they started processing some applications but I'd be shocked if they've done the screening already.

Thanks. Is yours showing "delivered" or "out for delivery"? Mine is "out for delivery" forever. But even it's delivered, there's no signature which means it's not accepted yet. Too bad.

Congrats! I just checked but it's still showing "out for delivery" since Jan 5. What is your tracking history looking like? Do you see "delivered" as last step? Does it have signature? Thanks.

I'm on the same boat with the darn Canada Post. By no means I was trying to save money. If I knew there's difference between Canada Post and other courier services, I'm willing to pay way more for a guaranteed service on time. I sent my package on Dec 31 in the morning (from Ottawa), and the...

    Foreign Service - Strike?

OK my friend. I replied with nothing and all my comments were ignorant? Get yourself some education and think about how labor system works. If you feel this is unfair and decide to move on, someone else will step in and happily take your position. In a year if he feels unsatisfied with the pay...

    Foreign Service - Strike?

Calling my comment ignorant is ignorant itself, but I still respect your comment. 1) I admitted there's unfairness here or there. Very valid point. But as I said, it's personal choice. You have the option not to take such position. And I personally don't think government employees are taking...

    Foreign Service - Strike?

I don't know the exact reason behind the scene, but nothing special. People want to do the same job with more pay. There're tons of ways to improve salaries. Striking is not among the most respectable ones. Good point with regard to my friend. If they hire someone else that is better than him...

    Foreign Service - Strike?

Just my 2 cents. It's not a simple matter of "fairness". Striking in 30 years ago is a way of fighting against unequal treatment. But this no longer exists in modern capitalized society. I admit there's still unfairness here or there, but the majority of striking today, is to protect...
