My wife's 6 months as a visitor will end April 24th, Passport is at CPC-Ottawa. What should we do?

Hi there, looking for some advice. My wife has been in Canada on a TRV since October 24th, 2019. April 24th, 2020 marks the 6 months she's allowed as a visitor (they didn't give her a visitor record, and didn't even stamp the passport). We received passport request on March 12th, 2020 and...

    CPC Ottawa closure

Will that same visa be valid once we receive the passport back with COPR letter? Not sure how it works. My wife is from China (not a visa exempt country).

My wife's passport arrived in CPC-Ottawa March 13th, no updates yet. April 23rd will mark 6 months that she's been in Canada on a TRV, I wonder if we need to extend it?

FYI https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/coronavirus-special-measures.html "Workers, students and approved permanent residents who haven’t landed should not travel yet. We’ve announced exemptions but they’re not in place. Travel restrictions are still in effect for...

    CPC Ottawa closure

My wife's passport arrived at the CPC Ottawa March 13th, no updates since. She's here on a TRV, April 23rd will be 6 months since we've been here, I wonder what happens if we don't get the passport back before then or if we do but aren't able to validate the PR before then.

    Flagpoling after Canada-US border closing

I called the border, they said it's non-essential.

I just tried calling border services, they said that it would be considered "non-essential" travel and that we wouldn't be able to go through. So going through CIC offices might be the only option for the time being.

Coming in yes, but we're already in and need to do an exit and re-enter to finalise the PR process.

What's your plan to activate the PR once you get the passport back? We had planned to cross the border but it's shut down now.

Thanks for the info. I resubmitted the documents, and updated the address to Canada. Hopefully we'll hear something back soon. I did notice after I submitted the documents the BGC changed back to "Your application is in progress. We will send you a message when we start your background check."...
