Will that same visa be valid once we receive the passport back with COPR letter? Not sure how it works. My wife is from China (not a visa exempt country).

My wife's passport arrived in CPC-Ottawa March 13th, no updates yet. April 23rd will mark 6 months that she's been in Canada on a TRV, I wonder if we need to extend it?

My wife's passport arrived at the CPC Ottawa March 13th, no updates since. She's here on a TRV, April 23rd will be 6 months since we've been here, I wonder what happens if we don't get the passport back before then or if we do but aren't able to validate the PR before then.

I called the border, they said it's non-essential.

I think it means whoever got their passport back and COPR letter.

I just tried calling border services, they said that it would be considered "non-essential" travel and that we wouldn't be able to go through. So going through CIC offices might be the only option for the time being.

Coming in yes, but we're already in and need to do an exit and re-enter to finalise the PR process.

What's your plan to activate the PR once you get the passport back? We had planned to cross the border but it's shut down now.

I just got bulletin 2, last week I got PPR.

No need to say sorry. Just venting :) my wife hopes to go to University in September so hopefully she'll get PR before she has to pay tuition.

Almost 2 months since my wife got pre-arrival letter, still just showing "We are processing your background check" and "We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements.". :rolleyes:

Do you mind sharing your update timeline? I'm curious how long after pre-arrival letter your got DM, and the time after DM how long until you got the PR. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the info. I resubmitted the documents, and updated the address to Canada. Hopefully we'll hear something back soon. I did notice after I submitted the documents the BGC changed back to "Your application is in progress. We will send you a message when we start your background check."...
