Seriously? 5 months is still within the processing time frame. It is not unusual for some applications to take extra time for processing and it doesn't mean they have submitted something wrong.

You can send a mail to CIC, with your application information, and ask them for a status update. They will provide you one, if they have any and 5 months is still within the processing time frame.
