My husband mailed in his passport and it came back in 10 days! The whole sponsorship process took around 5 months.

It took 6 weeks for us. I think it just depends on the application and what stage you are in.

My husband got a flight out of Budapest for only 400 euros. He has to get a shuttle from Belgrade, but that's only 30 euros.

I heard that you can't apply for one if background checks are going on. This happened to someone at my husband's visa office. Because military checks were being conducted his visitor visa was refused.

Well, you were right. Visa issued today! He's bought his ticket and will arrive in a month! :D

My husband just got a notice to call the embassy where he lives. We think they have sent his visa there from the embassy that processes it. Of course we won't know for sure until Monday now, but if it is his visa then it only took 10 days to process. It feels unreal that this is happening so...

It's a privilege to live in this wonderful country. I was born here and have generations of family to back it up too. I've also lived and worked abroad and though I don't always understand or appreciate other countries laws I respect them and keep my opinions to myself. I don't understand why...
