Sounds like they went crazy with medical requests over the last few days.

I have a theory that they're close to meeting their quota for new PR's in 2019 and are slowing down a bit until January. Either that or they had a lot of applications for different types of visas/permits in June.

I was on a temporary visa when I received OHIP (in Ontario).

My OWP was approved on November 1st. Now the long wait for the medical request to come through.

Looks like June applicants only started receiving medical requests towards the end of October, so maybe towards the end of November you might hear something.

Seems like the OWP's are coming through for August applicants. Mine was received 21st August so hopefully I'll hear something in the next couple of weeks.

Have they changed the time frames a bit? Seems like the medical is coming towards the end of the process now as opposed to the medical request being issued, and then there being a long wait for AIP/DM etc.

I'm on an IEC so my SIN is a temporary one. I'd assume that I'd need to get it updated when a new work permit is issued?

I might be wrong but I think that he'll be reassessed when he returns to Canada. He'll probably need to provide proof that he has funds to support himself whilst he waits for the application to come through but again I'm not sure. I have a valid work permit and used that.
