YUP!! But i recommend you to apply for a PCC..NVDO may or may not ask for PCC with passport request. I was in same situation and i already kept a new PCC with me for safer side.As the PCC is having 1 year validity the new one will be valid till Nov 2015

Normally they ask for updated Passport copy bio-page.but nothing to worry..its up to them and normal

Send your passport with someone to India upon ur PPR request and ask ur family to do the process..!!
