SP(Study permit) is required if u wnt to study any course (masters,diploma,certificate) more thn 6 months in Canada. GIC is also requirement,but only for Indian Nationals

I m suprised. Most of the stuffs I have been reading in this forum says arnd few months of wait time.

Dont worry too much buddy, they might be sending these emails just because they r encountering backlogs in SP extensions

Check my previous post for documents that are required to be submitted. Apply before 4 months (in ur case August). Even July 2015 is not a bad idea, since CIC is encountering backlogs for Study Permit extension applications sent online.

Apply for ur extension online, with a letter of acceptance from the college, proof of funds (4000 CAD needs to be shown for SP extension) & in ur case an explanation letter for switching colleges.

I wouldn't suggest u to work in this interval. According to ur off campus permits conditions, If ur enrolled in a college and studying as a full time student,then ur eligible to work fr 20hrs in a week (or) if ur a student on ur scheduled breaks u can work 40hrs in a week. But working or not...

Only 1sem fees and GIC r requirements. If u wnt to show extra funds it just an addition,get a bank statement that clearly shows ur bank name and address with ur name (or) ur guardian name(ur parents) as the account holder along with the account number

As long as u have a valid study permit to study ur good. There is no need for u to inform CIC. Make sure that ur enrolled and studying as a student in some college, if not ur breaching ur permit's conditions
