one can still travel on an old passport, if they have a valid visa on it. but since, your passport is expiring in 7 months. make sure what's the minimum expiry required. (please confirm this with seniors). No you cannot extend the visa, its only valid till the date shown on your PP. Before that...

If you have the OFFER and RELIVING letters for the NOC from which you're claiming the points, then it fulfills 50% of the job. rest, you have to get your ROLES letter and the roles should match at least 60-70% of the duties mentioned on CIC. Your paystubs,tax returns, reference, experience...
