    question about police certificates

They have reduced the age a 'child' is considered a dependent to 19 unless they have a mental or physcial disability so yes she wouldnt need a certificate and if she did decide she wanted to move to Canada would have to do so under her own merits...so will save some money on the police certificate!

    Outland question

Seems a long time for Europe, I think only Moscow is more than 14 months although I know each application is different but might be worthwhile requesting notes.

Inland application- Recent arrival to Canada

Hi Tricia, Tricky one, I see the applications times for outland and inland (given you are in Chile) are roughly the same so it probably wouldnt make that much of a difference however, if you decide to move and arrive in Canada with the intention of doing an inland application with all your...

Seems really random I was able to log on straight after we received our SA by email, but the only difference being our application went to Ottawa.

Worried!!! Has our application gone awry? (Outland/Sydney)

I'm not sure that it's overflow according to an email from CIC they are applying certain criteria for applications to be processed in Ottawa, just not sure what that criteria is as it wasn't stated.

Worried!!! Has our application gone awry? (Outland/Sydney)

It seems that CIC are having some fun with recent applications. We applied outland and expected our application to go to London as we are in the UK but instead it was sent to Ottawa. I wouldn't worry too much if your application is in process and is still within the time limits.

Thread for Outland LONDON, UK Applications!

I suppose I'm only going by my own circumstances Chevy as I thought myself and my good lady are a pretty straightforward case, we also paid all the fees up front! But you're right there doesn't seem to be any particular consistency. Last time I was in Ottawa it was about -30 so I dont fancy...

Thread for Outland LONDON, UK Applications!

I wonder whether applications being sent to Ottawa are ones CIC consider more straightforward and lack any red flags that could potentially slow the process down. Pure speculation on my part but they are obviously filtering them out using some form of criteria. I suppose only time will tell if...

verbally and psychologically abuse from husband

If you are concerned for your safety and wellbeing you should contact the police in the first instance although I appreicate this can be difficult. Here is a list of other agencies that may be useful and could provide support. They can put you in touch with shelters where you could stay while...

Spousal Sponsorship - Baby dual citizenship

The guide for western Europe IMM3901 states that birth certificates are required to prove the relationship between the sponsor and each of the family members. If your child already has a Canadian citizenship certificate you can include that instead.

Spousal Sponsorship - Baby dual citizenship

You need to apply for his/her citizenship certificate seperate from your application. We had the same issue. Unfortunately the application takes 12-15 months which can be longer than the actual PR application. We got a call from CIC in London when we sent in our daughters as they lost her photos...

Working permit expired soon when entering Canada

Likewise as Lellen I arrived back in Canada with about 10 days left on my work permit. I had applied for an extension knowing it would fail as my permit did not allow extensions but I was given implied status in the meantime, I had no problems at the border apart from a slightly grumpy...

    Statutory declaration form

I believe the one you are referring to is for common law, which if you are married you would not need to complete according to the guidance. "Statutory Declaration of Common-Law Union (IMM 5409) Who must complete this form? This form must be completed and signed by the sponsor and common-law...
