If I'm not mistaken, certified cheque is a guaranteed money. That is, the money is already taken from your account and will be in Bank's responsibility. So CIC is guaranteed that money will be available for them, but Credit Card is not like that, the bank should process it to verify that money...

Follow the excel sheet in the original posters signature.. you will have an idea. So far, some people who's application received before 7th have said their CC has been charged. None after that have stated in this forum yet.

First of all I hate all those put a fake signatures ! [I waited a week to have the real signatures reach me, because UPS lost my first package which should have reached me on 3rd morning.] Fake signatures are hard to be recognized, and CIC may not be able to proof that it is not legitimate...

Congratulations on getting in without all the requirement and taking one who is eligible out. It is sad that CIC is not following its own rules in filtering the applications and ensure those have met all the basic criteria get into the top 5000. Feels like a lottery now !!

Your father could be the principal applicant and mother be dependent spouse.. that would result in single application. So for example, IMM008 will have you father as principal and your mom details too, so no need for another form for her.. but there are family details and personal detail forms...

make sure you check all the form dates.. they should be the latest.. if you did miss 5406, there is a possibility you got the form from the wrong place.. so make sure you get that verified. and 5406 asks you to write names in your own language.. I missed that, don't miss.

CIC web /english/information/applications/sponsor-parents.asp is where you should be getting the forms from. The old location and old forms are still there, hope you didn't use the old forms. Feel sorry for you, please check and you may just send it in again hoping 5000 is not reached. Good...

That is the address you need to send it to if you are using a courier. And yours is treated a courier, so shouldn't be a issue.

Reached on 9th January 3.20 pm. I might or might not make the 5000 cap. I could have submitted by 3rd of January had the UPS didn't lose my package. My parents are in Sri Lanka, I emailed them the forms and they printed, signed and handed over to UPS which should have arrived in Canada by 5am...
