If you have your Status Indian paperwork you should be able to move to Canada and after that start sponsorship. Your spouse would need to enter as a visitor, but but could get a work permit after some months.

You can consider getting notarized statements from friends, family, landlords who witnessed you living together, if you haven't submitted that. Common shared finances - that you maintained a household together, etc.

We submitted the application as common-law. The letters do not need to be notarized according to the regulations. We did notarize a few letters - from friends, from parents, not from landlord though. While not necessary, a notarized letter adds some weight, rather than a collection of letters...
