That is strange that your partner's boss already received a call from CIC regarding his work history. I wonder at what point in the application process that Ottawa would confirm the principal applicant's work history.

Exactly. That would be the best Christmas present ever!

I am in the same situation as you. We're young, my husband is a full time student and we can't afford for me to stay in Canada as a visitor while we wait for PR. I have to stay home and work, but I wish I could wait it out with him.

Congratulations, ChellyCat!!! Hopefully you'll see your COPR in the mail any day now!

    US outland applicants' thread :)

I would assume that your recent IP following that email would mean you're actually close to the end, but I guess time will tell. Either way, congrats on getting some movement!

Where can you find in your notes whether or not someone has been assigned to your file?

It seems very different from last year when a group of people were processed crazy fast during the summer, and then there was barely any movement for months. We can only hope that there are tons of updates before the holiday slow-down.

I received my first set of GCMS notes today, which say they were requested on 8/25/2015 (originally requested 8/14/15 and then they later requested consent forms). I was one of the many applicants that saw IP on August 6. My notes indicate that my file was sent from CPC-M on 7/11/2015 and...

    MAY 2015 Spouse Application OUTLAND

Ineffable, thanks for your insight on notes. Until I see proof on my notes, I am guessing that our applications are at roughly the same stage. A call center agent told us around August 18 that my medical passed, but nothing else had been started, which matches your notes. To say that CIC is...

    MAY 2015 Spouse Application OUTLAND

Thanks for sharing part of your notes! Is the "In Progress" part of your notes throwing you off? I would guess that your file is more or less at the same stage as my August 6th IP file, which doesn't seem to hold much significance for recent applicants. As soon as I receive notes, I will share...

    MAY 2015 Spouse Application OUTLAND

My PR application shows IP as well. I just find it so strange that someone would add something to the sponsorship file, but not change it to decision made. I agree with you. I think CIC is making an effort to switch to a more standardized/consistent way of updating ECAS. I base this off of...

I admit that i'm a little embarrassed to ask this question because it may be common knowledge, but do the long processing times at CPC - Ottawa and other VO's have anything to do with receiving more applications than there are seats available in a given year? Or do files sit in inventory for...

    MAY 2015 Spouse Application OUTLAND

For those of you interested in another strange ECAS story, I recently noticed that my husband's sponsorship application status added a third line: "We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s) on June 11, 2015," even though it still says IP, and my PR application is in...

I don't have experience with that, but congratulations on IP! Both of our received and IP dates are three days apart. May 12th and July 14th for me.

What would motivate an officer to go back to my electronic file which ECAS says IP, to later add a third line? I sent in my police clearance before they requested one, so that's the main reason I would think that someone would update ECAS, since apparently they've been "processing" (received?)...

"In Process" - does it still mean something?

I did not receive a request to submit a police clearance, but I sent in my "real" FBI one to replace my old channeler FBI report late last week, and my ECAS now shows a third line since late last night (along with everyone else). My dates are very strange though (in order): App Filed: May 12...

Majromax, I will be sure to share what my GCMS notes say once I get them. My dates are VERY strange. I think seeing this new line is a positive thing, because someone had to access my application to add a new line. Aren't visa officers in charge of that?

Anyone newly IN PROGRESS get PPR or DM yet?

I went IP on August 6, but received SA on August 12. As of a few minutes ago, ECAS showed a new line "We started processing XXXXX's application on July 14, 2015."

My ECAS just changed as of a few minutes ago. The main page has shown both applications as "In Process," but my PR app just added a new line saying "We started processing XXXXXX's application on July 14, 2015." We received SA on August 12 and IP on PR app on August 6.

"In Process" - does it still mean something?

Yes!!! My main page still says "In Process" but now there is another line that says "We started processing XXXXX's application on July 14, 2015." I received SA on August 12 and IP on August 6. How about that for confusing?! I am hoping this is a good sign!!! BTW, ECAS changed shortly after...
