That is fine....but we anyway need the passport to be updated so that visa can be renewed. You cannot live with visa expired. It's an offense. Visa is just not for landing, it's for entire stay internationally.

If the country regulation does not allow renewal of PP any earlier than 6 months, then you have no option but to wait to fall in that window and then apply for renewal. I think the grave worry point would be for primary applicant than any of his/her dependents (I'm not saying it isn't important...

This isn't a good deal then.....why should we have visa for remaining validity months than a complete year after MR?? From my understanding then, one should apply for PP renewal as soon as it's expiry date tends to fall within the validity duration of visa itself.
