Thanks everyone for your input. Given that this is probably THE most important set of documents I will be preparing in my life, I'm going to find the extra money and get he certified translations done. I know that by law, we don't need them, but I'm hell bent to go above and beyond on this.

Friends/family of my wife have written letters of support, but they are written in Indonesia Bahasa. Does this require a 'certified and true' translation (ie., professional)? Thanks all!

Tough question. I would actually call CIC and ask them for clarification. The last thing you want to do is to misrepresent yourself. Make note of the officer's name and date of the query, and what he/she says.

So, if I understand this right, my wife, the applicant, just contacts the panel physician for an appointment, and the process precedes fromt here? Is it that simple?

Thanks mikemyke, this is a wonderful framework for my own version. I'm thinking I'll do the same, and if they think it's too much, then they can disregard what they will. It's preferable to them not having enough info or leaving questions unanswered. I'll be helping my wife with her narrative...
