In the Sponsor Guide, it says to complete IMM5482 (or IMM1283, if either my wife or I have a dependent child). I have a son (17) and daughter (22, university). Daughter lives away for school, and son lives with my ex (I get his every other weekend). I pay child support.
Given this;
1) I use IMM1283, correct?
2) I'll be ordering an Option C printout, but in the meantime, is Line 150 on the Option-C the same value as Line 150 of my notice of assessment?
3) Why does the whole Co-signer thing exist? If my wife is going to be out of work, though looking, when she gets here, what's the purpose of adding her existing income to the calculations? (Just curious)
4) I read somewhere that CIC now considers dependent children to be under 19 (used to be under 22), and they removed the student age exemption. What I can't tell from their notice though, is if this applies to dependents of the sponsor as well. I'm going to call CIC tomorrow to verify, but I'd love to hear what you guys think as well.
Regardless, my gross income exceeds my calculations, even claiming both kids (despite them not living here).
PS - doing these forms is about as much fun as a vasectomy without the freezing....
