We have a very similar timeline. I hope we hear something by the end of the year or sooner. I am living outside of the country with my husband but will come back once I get confirmation of hearing date.

How does the IAD notify you hearing? Do they send emails? I am living out of the country with my husband until our full hearing is confirmed. We were refused March 2017. I guess I won't hear anything until 2019?

Yup. The person I spoke to said it would take 18 months so early 2019. I hope it is sooner. They need to do something about the backlog and the lack of counsel staffing at the immigration appeal board.

Wow!! That is unbelievable. They just don't care about people's lives. It's sad. The wait is tough. I'm looking at 2019 as well.

Wondering if it makes sense to reapply or wait for hearing? I've heard they cannot decline for the same reasons. Anyone on here seen someone pull appeal and just reapply? 12 months vs 18 month wait for hearing.

I guess I'm in the boat with everyone else that is in for the long haul. My appeal is going to full hearing. Ontario needs to do something about this backlog. 2 years is a long time to wait for a hearing date. :(

That is so petty of the officer to actually put that he didn't know the title of a book you read!! Like seriously... during an interview there are more important things that you are trying to remember and not slip on. lol. I'm sure some of these visa officers don't know a book their spouse or...

You did not get an option for ADR? Yes the typical time is 2 years. More waiting :(

WOW. It's going to almost be 2 months since decision made. They need to fix their flawed system. After waiting so long they should try and speed up after appeal is allowed and make those priority. I am just at the beginning. I received Blue Book around August 11th or so. Another waiting...

When you call to confirm maybe they can let you know if it is ADR or Full Hearing. That way you know how much you have to prepare (i.e witnesses etc) I am praying that you get ADR. I got some feedback and was told if you get ADR focus on proving that the visa officer's concerns are wrong...

You should be able to contact the IAD and reference your file number and the case worker can let you know if they have mailed anything

I had the same issue. My blue book was sent with no proof - just the forms. I think it is a case by case depending on the visa officer that you get. It looks like this is a new trend in an effort to save time and effort. The problem is IAD doesn't know the proof you sent in if you didn't...

That's what I thought. It would be hard to get ADR if they didn't receive a full package. It doesn't make sense to me why some ppl get all of it and some ppl only some....lazy visa office I guess.
