I've had a different experience. I've gotten most of my messages/communication through MyCIC. The only e-mails I received to my personal e-mail were the AOR1 and the automated e-mail to show that MyCIC was updated. So yes, be on the safe side and check everything!

What are the rules with US citizens? Are they allowed to have dual citizenship with Canada? I never know where to look for the "official rules"

I'm still waiting as well :) I was asked for additional documents on December 9th. I sent them December 17th and got confirmation this past Friday that they were received. So just playing the waiting game once again!

I had an updated version as well and had the same issue. What worked for me was manually saving each pdf first then using reader to open up the file as opposed to just clicking on the link from the website.

Me too! Sad to see the week pass and still nothing. I did call today though to confirm that my requested additional documents were received. So I guess that's at least one positive thing! Let's all try to have a good weekend and hopefully next week will bring us all some good news!
