I'm guessing your wife will be joining you after you get your PR. So why not try applying for a visitor visa. If she applies for the visa in India, she should get it in about 2 weeks.

Thanks. No, I wasn't contacted. However, in the PPR email, they have asked whether my family composition has changed or will change before the Visa is issued i.e. changes in marital status, children etc.

I don't think there's any point getting riled up folks. The rants are not constructive in any way. It's the end that matters not the means or how long it takes. My wife and I haven't visited home for close to 3 years now. So we are eagerly waiting to get our PRs too.
