I hope someone can definitely help me out in this regard.

I got PPR on 29th Nov 2013 to submit my and wife passport to CPP-O together. As my wife is back home and she can't send her passport to Canada due to national laws.

I emailed CPP-O about this situation on Monday 2nd dec 2013 and still waiting for their response. It is more than a week now, no reply.

Can someone suggest me what to do in the situation, if they don't reply.

You can pm me if you know any secret way !!

Thank you all.

This is one tricky situation. From the previous forums I have seen, some have suggested that a human courier is most effective. This is one expensive undertaking, travelling, getting the passport and then taking it back once stamped. There should be an easy way out. Why don't you call CIC call centre and see if they have any knowledge about it or can advise you about it.

I'm guessing your wife will be joining you after you get your PR. So why not try applying for a visitor visa. If she applies for the visa in India, she should get it in about 2 weeks.

pr2013 - Arif's wife is a dependent in the application and is also entitled for the visa. I would think that applying for the visitor visa will only consume time and there is no guarantee she will get the visa as a visitor since Arif is still not a PR unless he gets the visa stamped.

there is no set time for cpp-ottawa replying for emails, they could reply within 2 days or 4 weeks no one knows for sure, you just have to wait its only been a week now and you still have more then enough time to make your decision as far as i know they give 60 days for passport submission.

I agree with you 'immigrationaspirant' - i see no advantage to 'arif.jabbar' in applying for his wife's visitor visa - the reason is two fold - 1) its going to take some time to apply and hear from them, for sure not in very short time 2) there are high chances for rejection - i have heard of at least 4 cases of visitor visa rejection of applicants who PR is under process.

arif.jabbar - you know lot better than us since you are following this forum very closely for a long time - all i can suggest is re-send your query including all the 'required' application details - BTW if you have replied to your PPR e-mail, then there could be problem. For example, when i received some guidance on how to update my family information from CPP-O, i simply replied to the same message (continuing the thread), but i never got any response back; however when i drafted a separate e-mail (pasting the text from other message) i got a response immediately.

Not necessarily this should work for you, but just a suggestion from personal experience.

thank you all for your feedback.

Visit visa - i don't think so it's a feasible option

I have already applied for her work permit at CHC, islamabad before getting PPR.

I emailed Chc, islamabd last night, mentioning them we got PPR and passport needs to be submitted at CPP-O.

No reply from them as of now.

Usually, they reply within a day...not this time !!

Once again, thank you all for your comments.

My wife was refused a work visa as the visa officer believed that she will not leave Canada. A generic reason for refusing visas. I had submitted a letter from my PNP office to support her case and I guess that din't make much of a difference so right now my only hope is to get my wife a PR visa so she can reunite with me. Arif.Jabbar I hope your wife gets her visa on time so to join you. I believe that a wife should never be denied a visa, but this is how their IRPA act works sadly, at the discretion of the VO. :(

Well thats how it is. I am soon starting a documentary/short film on this.

Just to update you, I spoke to MP and he emailed CIC. CIC responded him back saying principal applicant (me) should submit passport at ottawa with an explanation letter stating why my spouse passport cant be mailed to Ottawa. Ottawa will give instructions then.

I sent my passport wednesday eve, it will reach today. I will keep you all posted.
