I think it was on 31st October that I noticed the change in ECA status to third line. Wasn't checking ECA everyday before that.

Ohk. I thought for some DM status can be visible before stamping as well. Then I don't need to keep checking ECA status everyday :)

You have the copy of HDFC DD with you? There is a reference number mentioned on it, using the reference number, walk up to the teller in the bank and they will be able to track the DD using that reference number. I did the same and got confirmation of DD encashment.

Paying by DD costs less and it is flat amount of 26700/- per adult. Online you will be paying by CC in CAD dollars and CAD to INR exchange rates will apply. In addition to that bank charges will also apply on CC. I would rather pay the amount after my medicals are done and received by NDVO.

My 2 cents: If he has been living in India and never went back to Canada, then in all probability he has lost his PR. I am not sure if he can apply for travel document now. Also, I dont think it will affect your application in any ways, CIC/NDVO doesn't ask for travel/visa history of parents...

All will be fine. Yes as you said the process is surely delayed, but keep patience and all will be well :)
