Based on my short visit to both NYC & Toronto, I would say traffic is comparable, especially the way taxi cabs navigate. :)

You are better off posting this question in various POF threads on the forum. The pool of people posting in this thread is going to be smaller then there. Plus for US based folks the POF requirements are not that hard to meet so they might not encounter same issues as you.

Depends on your judgement. My preference was to put in a seperate LOE for each issue. If a document needed a LOE I combined the LOE with the document with a TOC at the beginning of the document. I also had a TOC & multiple LOEs in the additional document section. As I said had many LOEs :p

If you think something is not clear then put in a LOE. I had 6-8 LOEs for various things in my application. I attached supporting documents/proofs for the LOEs as needed.

Only if your reference letter from employer does not mention your salary, hours etc. Basically you need a LOE + proof for anything your reference letter does not mention.

I included both our cars on goods to follow list. I pointed it out to the customs dude and he made a note of it in the actual form he filled.

No need to be specific on $ value. If you are going to insure for transportation, use insurance values since insurance company may look at goods to follow.

TLDR; Go to RBC branch while you are there to open US & Canada account for free money transfer. Yikes. I should have gone into a Rbc branch in Canada while I was there. They would have opened a account in Canada and US for me letting me transfer funds between them for free. I can't do it online...

I think bank service is more of a branch to branch issue then a corporate wide. So far it looks like all Canadian banks except online ones have a lot of nickel & dime sort of charges. If you want to maintain a US presence too, I suggest you look at Tmobile. Their US receptions might not be...

We just told them we can use our credit cards / debit cards in Canada. I did not have any bank statements on me. In hindsight that might have been a good idea too.

I would say landing + customs took an 30 mins to a hour or so in Toronto. The actual process is fast. Its just walking from initial immigration to landing officer, then walking to customs officers. Custom officer making copies of goods to follow etc. Don't forget to make your goods to follow list!

I am from the south suburbs and used walgreens. Their machine has a option for Canada passport photo.

I used my T-mobile line which worked great since I got unlimited call/text, 5GB of LTE (and unlimited throttled data). The only problem was calling the call center to update my PR card address. I needed a local number and went and got a prepaid call/text no data plan line.

Since when AOR? Nothing to worry about. I was a PNP candidate and it was 3 months before I got med passed and UCI. You can look at other FSWO's on the forum or trackers linked from the forum to get a idea.

post-ita personal history with prefilled entries

As best as I can remember I left it in. I did not fill in the personal history gap. However I put in a letter of explanation for the personal history explaining the gap. For my wife and me we actually had a bunch of letter of explanations (5 to 8, I think) for various situations. I got my PR...

Not able to update address for PR card delivery

Yeah too bad for me. Or maybe some US numbers work and some do not. Since I am in Canada, I ended up purchasing a prepaid SIM and called in and updated my address.

BTW the US number does not work anymore. They do attempt to transfer to IRCC but the IRCC system dumps you out because of the US number.
