What is the process if you land with a rental car from the US and return it in Canada? I've read somewhere on the forum that it is do-able. That's what I'm thinking about doing as I will move permanently whenever I do my landing.
Most of the rental car agencies allows that. Check with the rental car agency. Not an issue in the border.

We didn't submit any bank statements, just letters from two banks we have accounts with. We have other accounts that I ignored. One account we included had enough funds on its own so we probably could have just used it but the other bank has our mortgage so we threw that in too. Both letters included every single detail CIC wanted. For pay stubs, we only included 4 recent ones and that was only because the letter from the employer didn't expand on what benefits were included, so those showed that it was medical, dental, 401k, etc. Otherwise the employer letter ticked all the boxes too. And, well, we're sitting here in Toronto with stamped COPRs on the other side of the room :)
are pay stubs required? i have not seen that anywhere.

My wife's family shifted to new address recently but most of her docs.(passport, bank account etc.) are with old address. but the proof of funds gift affidavit reflects her father's current address, which is new one. both the apartments are owned by her family only. also she married to me and so one more address (my address) added. we have mentioned all in history.

Should i explain this in LoE? What if i do not? can it be cause of rejection?

If you think something is not clear then put in a LOE. I had 6-8 LOEs for various things in my application. I attached supporting documents/proofs for the LOEs as needed.

creating separate LoE for each issue is a good idea? or should i address all issues in one LoE?

Depends on your judgement. My preference was to put in a seperate LOE for each issue. If a document needed a LOE I combined the LOE with the document with a TOC at the beginning of the document. I also had a TOC & multiple LOEs in the additional document section. As I said had many LOEs :p

Hey guys,

I'm currently looking to obtain Police Clearance Certificate from FBI.

1. Can I get my fingerprints done from a private vendor, rather than a nearby Police Department?

2. Instead of Ink fingerprinting , can I go for LiveScan (Electronic) fingerprints ?

I live in Michigan. I'd really appreciate your inputs.

Thank you.

1. Yes.
2. If you mean use LiveScan service, then print the fingerprints on the FD-258 card and mail your application, then Yes. If you mean use a Channeler, then no if you are not a US citizen or a greencard holder.
Good Luck!

Did you include the car on your goods to follow list then? Or is there another form I should bring as well? I'm flying in for my soft landing on Thursday, but I want to make sure I don't create any issues for later when I drive my car up and land permanently.

Like @canada_eagle said, put it on your goods to follow list. It should be no problem for you since you'll fly in for the soft landing. It's when you drive in but don't import it yet that some of the border agents get confused. I believe one of them put a note on our file or paperwork about it too so we should be set for our next trip up and then the move itself. Even in my case it was essentially a non-issue beyond me being worried over it for that 10-15 minute period. Even if the first agent had been working indoors and said something there, there were so many other agents milling around and jumping in on any points of confusion that it would still have been sorted out quickly.

One LoE that includes all issues. Otherwise, you risk the agent not reading everything or missing something.

what if i upload LoE also in the related section? for example, LoE related to PCC in PCC section as well as in LoE section?

Toronto was much nicer than I thought it would be. People here compare it to New York City, and NYC doesn't impress me. I'm not sure where I think it is like, but it's much nicer than NYC

Granted, we had a short stay but from what I saw so far, I can see why it gets compared to both there and Chicago. It felt more like NYC geographically (in size and how there are multiple areas some distance apart with high rises and such), but Chicago in appearance and cleanliness/shininess. Chicago definitely has a lot of neighborhoods but outside of their core, in connection with some lakefront areas, it's mostly low-rises and residential areas. Now hopefully Toronto doesn't prove me wrong by surprising me with NYC-style piles of trash bags on the sidewalks on our next visit !

You are better off posting this question in various POF threads on the forum. The pool of people posting in this thread is going to be smaller then there. Plus for US based folks the POF requirements are not that hard to meet so they might not encounter same issues as you.
