    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2013

Happy Saint Valentine's Day everyone! This is a day when we can truly take a step back and see what it is that we're going through all this nerve wracking, patience testing, waiting period for. We are lucky enough to be with our significant others during this arduous process. :) Wishing everyone...

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2013

Oh Minime, I am so terribly sorry for your loss. This is unthinkable - right in the middle of one of the greatest patience testing points of your life that you must deal with something so unexpected. I know it may mean little to you as you don't know many of us past a username and a few messages...

There is no income requirement for spousal sponsorship. However, by entering into a sponsorship, you are in agreement that you must care for your sponsored spouse financially. Meaning your spouse cannot go on to claim welfare and become a strain on the government. Does your pan bet make any...

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2013

We must have had a really strict individual then. When we moved to Nova Scotia, hubby still had some time left on his work visa. They told him that he could not have health coverage unless he had a work permit that was valid for at least a year. Then when we were going through submitting the...

Thanks, Line.a! I called back and the woman that I had on the phone this time was a lot more helpful. She went through the information part of the application with me (husband's name, date of birth, work permit validity dates etc.) and said that she would be sending them out. I guess the rules...

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2013

Congrats HappyWife08! :) Ugh. Silly Nova Scotia health care. I called when my hubby got the email that said he was approved for an OWP and the woman (who was snappy and rude with me over the phone to begin with) said she'd send out forms for us to fill out. It's been a little over two weeks...

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2013

Maybe I should call and check on the extra documents that hubby and I sent in December. Though that was all updated relationship information and a few more leases (vehicles, apartment) that were sent. Not sure if they still look at that kind of stuff in second stage.... Thanks for letting us...

Chin up! This is not necessarily true! We are but a fraction of the applicants who have applied for spousal/family class sponsorship in 2013. People may be getting good news and are just not part of this community. I hope this is the case. :) Anything is possible! We'll see what tomorrow brings.

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2013

The same thing happened with my husband and I. We sent a complete package (medicals, police check etc.) and paid all the fees up front. It was a gamble to send the medicals right away and it's a gamble that might not pay off. They expire March 8th and we didn't get DM right away - not sure why...

hey guys got an interview this is what it says.

An interview is requested when there are red flags in a case that CIC want to clear up. Red flags could be any number of things including but not limited to: * Large age difference between the couple, usually 7+ years difference, this is especially the case if the woman is the older of the...

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2013

It was 6 months for first stage at one point. I don't think not wanting to bring it down below 8 months is the reason, especially seeing as how they made an announcement that 2014 will be the year for family class immigration to speed up. There was a back log from the strike and the situation in...

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2013

Right now, first stage (AIP) is 8-9 months. If you do not receive DM right away, you could be waiting up to another 8 months for second stage. It then depends on where you are landing. Vancouver has the longest waiting times so far. You can keep checking this page here...

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2013

AIP is Approved In Principle, which is the first stage. DM is Decision Made which is the second stage. :)

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2013

Good morning, all! Hopefully we'll all get a little bit of good news today! CIC seemed to be taking the Monday pretty slow, so here's to hoping that they work twice as hard to catch up today! :) The 8-9 months is for first stage only. If you do not receive DM at the same time as AIP you may...

The main reason why you may not have heard anything about DM yet is because of the medicals. I believe that they only start processing second stage DM when they have all the documents they need. So they only started processing your second stage January 23rd. You will probably hear around the...

I'm not sure that I can 100% answer your question, but I will give it a shot. Don't be afraid to make new topics if you don't see anything that's already posted that will help you. We have a lot of really great users here, a lot of people who have gone through similar experiences. :) Also, if...

There was also an interesting flow chart on page 44 of this document: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/ip/ip08-eng.pdf It outlines exactly what happens in each stage. I also came across something else that advised the officer to look over the entirety of the application for...

This is a really interesting read! I wasn't aware that we had access to such information! Thanks, Ponga. I think that we should all eventually become Immigration officers. Haha It's been such a big part of our lives, I feel like we know most of the ins and outs of the process by now. :P

I'm sorry that this has been the path of your application. All you can do now is to prepare. A few topics are specific for questions that are asked in the interviews. If you are confident in the strength of your relationship (which you would have to be to go through immigration in the first...
