It was pretty much the same as Chuladaa´s. Except they only asked for the PGR because they still hadn´t made the SSP requirement yet. But it was the same, it was an AOR and at the same time a request for PGR and it also said they were sending the letter by mail the same day. We did not...

No we didn´t need an appointment. We just went there, it takes like 5 minutes! Make sure you go to the new address not Xola....anyone remember the new address? Looks like they are only asking for the PGR and the SSP. The PGR letter took like a month and a half to get to me from the day...

I don´t think there would be any probelms with that...with my experience at the mexican customs, they hardly even look at your passport/documents and just stamp it. I actually went to migration a couple of weeks ago to ask about this, because my student visa is about to expire on august 6th...

Latin American Studies :) I was really shy about it too! Still am sometimes! But just start with small things...maybe if you go out to a restaurant order for everybody, or ask for things yourself in Spanish. It helps if you have friends that don´t speak english at all...I found that if I...

I have heard Rosetta stone is really good! Haven´t tried it though... I have taken many spanish classes for my undergrad but I can tell you that nothing compares to just coming to mexico and forcing myself into situations where I have no choice but to speak spanish! I took like 5 years worth...

I can´t be sure, but I don´t think he was referring to 6 months because it was May. Because he told my husband this when he was asking a bunch of questions in general about the PGR process.

oh sorry I thought you didn´t have one yet! But if you have one from 2012 it should be okay...I think it says at the bottom when it was printed. Make sure you take a photocopy of it though cause you need it for the SSP too! Also They let other people go and order it for you...you don´t even...

Yep, that was in May. This is just what the PGR guy told him...but I have learned from experience in Mexico that one person can say one thing and another person can say something completely different!! LeisaP: then your husband´s will probably be in mexico city! You should take the...

Good idea! I think it would be much faster! Plus you will feel like you are actually doing something and not just waiting around for them to contact you! ;D

I think they send it by regular mail because it´s an official letter directed to the PGR requesting the certificate, so maybe it has to be the original letter and not a copy.

They send the AOR by email. But in the AOR letter they mention that they have sent the PGR letter on the same day. Mine took like a month and a half to get to me!

I remember I was in Havana a while ago with some friends and we met some Cuban guys at the beach, we were just talking to them and some police came to check their IDs and make sure they weren´t bothering us. And the guys totally freaked out thought they were going to be in big trouble...it was...
