Yay another Albertan in the Mexico forum :D I was hoping that the visitor visa was temporary too, but it really isn´t looking like it! I remember I was applying for my FM3 visa for Mexico like a week after they started the visitor visa for mexicans to visit Canada and they were very rude to...

Yep! if you are Canadian you don´t have to be in Canada while you wait. I am Canadian and have been living here in Mexico for a little over 3 years now! Sure makes the process much easier! I think I would be way more stressed out if I was in Canada and my husband in Mexico. Like others...

The SSP and the PGR are different! SSP is more like the state ones and isn´t so detailed so they probably mean the PGR! I think it´s faster to get the PGR in the state offices, took us only 6 days in Veracruz, whereas in Mexico city it takes 10 days! If you are in Mexico City I would go get...

yes they are very helpful at the embassy. There is a 30ish year old guy with long hair that is really helpful! Do you still have the tracking number from when you sent the PGR? Maybe you can print the tracking info?

Oh and while we are on the topic of names...I was wondering something about eCas. I see that some people can check eCas with the applicant´s name. So if the applicant has 2 surnames, then which one do you put it to log into ecas? or do you put both? I have tried all combinations of this...

I think most people have two last names here and they just chose whichever they want to go by! People always look at me weird here whe I tell them I only have one last name LOL. And then they always call me by my middle when they see it on my papers because here people go by both their first...

I know!! the names are so confusing!! I had a hard time deciding what to do when I got married, I just ended up keeping my last name! I am really not a fan of the ¨de¨ thing. Makes me feel like I am someone´s property lol! Maybe once I go back to Canada I will change it...or maybe not...

Hey I´m glad you figured out a better way to get the birth certificate! When we went to the PGR they told my husband that the birth certificate should be less than 6 months old! @edgarsitow congrats! I would give them 2 months, they seem to take 2 months all the time! :D

Ohh lucky you live close! Good thing you were able to get it! We also wrote a letter explaining that according to the Operational Bulletin (whatever number it was) they would require the SSP certificate, and that they didn´t ask for it yet but we were in mexico and decided to take advantage of...

My ecas said medical received about a month before I got AOR from Mexico, and then like a month after I got AOR from Mexico it said in process. So I wouldn´t trust Ecas too much on this stuff it seems kind of random!

Congrats edgarcitow! We went to the embassy this morning to hand in the SSP form I was kind of nervous that they wouldn´t accept it since they haven´t requested it yet. But the guy was really nice and he said good thinking that we are getting stuff before they even ask haha ;D So got that...

Yes it´s the one on Xola. We actually asked some police where the SSP was without showing them the address and they told us it was near the glorieta de insurgentes. So we went there and asked another police officer who told us they no longer do it there and we have to go to Xola. It´s easy...
