    Can I travel outside Canada?

You're good to go! You can go home and come back as many times as you want.

    Can I travel outside Canada?

You can leave to go home no problem. You are correct in that inland, it is advised NOT to leave, but you've chosen outland, which means it's okay to leave. In fact, you are a "visitor" in Canada during this process so it is expected you either need to leave to renew the 6-month visitor visa, or...

The long wait to be able to work

Totally agree, adoption is BEST :) Usually those adopted pets are sweeter and more thankful than purebreds for their homes :) I had a friend who adopted a retired German Shepherd police dog that was going to be euthanized (it was only 3 years old!) and it is the most well-trained and...

    Move - US to Canada

If your child does not have a certificate of citizenship (which you apply for and takes about 12-15 months to get) then she is NOT a Canadian citizen. Hope this helps!

The long wait to be able to work

You know what, I am not one to ever throw money around, but buy the dog :) The animal helped me VERY much. Animals can help people in hospitals and they can help us too when we are in emotional pain! I know the dog may be expensive but your happiness is very much worth it and you can treat it...

    does wedding pictures needed?

No problem, like I said, mine was a civil wedding too. Just have someone at the courthouse take 2-3 pictures of you guys after the ceremony is finished. It won't be a big deal since you have ample proof that you're legit :)

The long wait to be able to work

I've been in Alberta (Calgary) now for about 3 months so far (I sent my outland application on April 5th, 2014) I have probably about 4-6 months more to WAIT for PR approval. I am a very "type A" personality, always the breadwinner, extremely independent my whole life. But now, I have to...

    does wedding pictures needed?

Depends, but I recommend YES. I sent in only 4 photos of my civil Canadian wedding. One where the commissioner was reading our vows, one of us kissing after, and two with us and our two witnesses (husband's best friends). We did not have family there because my husband's mother had just died...

Re: Open Work Permit for Outland Sponsorship Well, the actual experience comes from the fact that the website says "IN Canada". In all honesty, if you even tried, by the time you receive the permit (assuming you qualify but you don't) you would already be approved for your permanent resident...

Can I drive with my US license if I extended my stay?

Which province are you in? Any AMA center should be able to tell you what you need and if you even qualify :)

Can I drive with my US license if I extended my stay?

I am here on a visitor visa in Alberta. I actually tried to change my California license to an Alberta one, but the worker at the auto center I went to told me I cannot change it until I have: permanent resident card or proof of living status in Canada. Apparently in Alberta, as a tourist, you...

    APRIL 2014 OUTLAND APPLICANTS

You're totally right though, considering how inefficient governments are and the incredible amount of money it takes to just get them to perform normal functions, $1,040 is a BARGAIN to gain PR status in one of the best and peaceful countries in the world :)

volunteering at united church of Canada

This is not true according to an immigration officer. I asked the border officer specifically if it was okay that I do an unpaid internship (not compensated via money or goods or benefits) he said "no" because I am offering skilled labor for free. Internships usually are not paid positions...

ahh ok yeah :) Well no worries, it'll be okay :)

Can't go to final interview, what do I do?!?

It sounds like you applied inland, correct? Inland implies you are in Canada and you will stay in Canada for the process. You've probably been waiting more than a year for this to finally be approved, GO TO THE INTERVIEW AND GET IT DONE! I would not reschedule, I would not delay anything.
