Can you contact your ex and ask him to ask his lawyer to write letter to the CIC that you and your ex were common-law partner, etc.

He can apply "Open Work Permit" if he wanted to apply PR inside Canada. He can send an "Open Work Permit" together with his PR application BUT not before. On CIC website right now it takes 11 months for the first step. Normally an "Open Work Permit" arrives with or after the first step. Please...

Thank you for info. I knew that since my tourist visa expired. Just extended my travel insurance through the Co-Operators which cost my husband $$$$$$ Hope to get the AIP soon coz this Sunday it will be 10 months for me since the CIC got my application.

Yea!!! CIC website is weird because in the morning of Thursday I saw it updated to October 29,2012. But I checked againg today it changed back to October 21, 2012. What a xxxx!!!

Yeah!!! It's my first thing to do on the Thursday morning as well "checking the update on CIC website" ;D ;D ;D Can't wait for my turn to get AIP (if it comes with DM would be great!!!) :D

Last night I saw that too. This is the second time that I saw it changed to 10 months :'(
