Considering CPP is not funded and judging by present demographics I'm not banking on any pensions. I'm requesting a new one anyway for $30

    2011 and 2012 Applicants

Quick update: I've lost my record of landing which I require to have with me for the oath. I did some research on the internet and for the most part this doesn't appear to be a major problem. The record was in my desk drawer and appears to have disappeared after a recent office move. I'll...

    Happy Day! 2011 Citizenship Applicant

So I wanted to share some news with you guys. I received my oath date a couple days ago in the mail. The letter is dated March 10th and the oath is scheduled for March 23rd. They are still trying to "catch people out" by not updating the online status tool and sending letters as close to the...

    2011 and 2012 Applicants

Well finally it happened. I got my oath letter today. It will be on March 23rd 2015. 3 years and 3 months and 1 week after they received my original application. Weirdly the event leading up to this oath was my file was transferred to Mississauga my "home" office even though I've only ever...

    Calling CIC

L1 doesn't work because the subsidiary must be owned by the holding company for at least 2 years or something before you can make L1 transfers. In any event TN is most appropriate due to the temporary nature of the work. It is literally just a few days at a time.

    Calling CIC

The point is my circumstances have changed. I my company has a subsidiary in the US and I'm required to go their for work purposes. US authorities now require work authorization to work there and a Canadian passport affords me a TN visa. The H1 visa route is not an option due to quotas and...

    Calling CIC

So I tried that today and actually go through to CIC. Around January 4 I sent them a letter for emergency processing. I sent it the same day I had spoken to CIC and was told where to mail it. It was sent with 1 day shipping via courier. The agent informed me they had just "opened" the letter...

    Calling CIC

I don't think you understand the system does not put me on hold. It simply informs me that no one is available to take my call and hangs up on me.

    2011 and 2012 Applicants

I called CIC today and was told my file and been transferred to Mississauga and that this was the "last step" before I would hear about a ceremony. I find that suspicious since my file was originally in Mississauga and then transferred to St. Claire. Since I live in Toronto I don't see how my...

    Calling CIC

Obviously I call during business hours, which also happen to be the hours at which I'm at work. I can't really sit in my office calling the CIC 20 times if I want to remain employed.

    Calling CIC

In a nutshell: Applied in December of 2011. RQ'ed in 2012 wrote and passed the test in June of 2014. I applied for emergency processing in January of 2015. Every morning for the last 4 weeks I've tried to call CIC call center to check on the status of my emergency request. I have received...

    2011 and 2012 Applicants

Applied in December 2011 and got RQed in March 2012. Wrote and past the test in June of 2014. I plan to withdraw my application after the rules change and I can re-apply with tax receipts. Great democracy we live in.

    December 2012 - January 2013 (Citizenship Applications)

Very similar timeline to you. I applied in december 11 and wrote the exam in June 2014. Still haven't heard anything I'm sure we are in the same line.

    Happy Day! 2011 Citizenship Applicant

I don't think there is a "backlog" like you would think of it. I think that applications like mine are in their own separate line and no matter how fast they process new apps it's not going to make that pile go down any faster. For instance citizenship judges are being phased out so they are...

    Happy Day! 2011 Citizenship Applicant

The truth is nobody knows, not anyone on this forum and not any lawyer I've spoken to. I plan on waiting until June and then re-applying under the new criteria which was supposed to speed up the application process since you submit verifiable information like tax returns.

    Happy Day! 2011 Citizenship Applicant

What you don't see about my app is that I've resided in Canada since 2005. I only applied in 2011 due to a combination of business travel and that I only become a PR in 2009. So really I've been here pretty much my entire adult life. Funny enough I know this guy that just got landed this year...

    Happy Day! 2011 Citizenship Applicant

The lawyer I spoke to advised that you can only get a Writ if you have not heard from CIC for 4 years.

    Happy Day! 2011 Citizenship Applicant

Today it has been exactly 3 years since I applied for citizenship. To celebrate I called CIC and they congratulated me and looked forward to hearing from me next on my 4th Anniversary. Applying for citizenship is not a means to an ends, it is of course an ends in itself. If I couldn't log onto...

Now what - what to do when 35 months are up

    - Agree with you on MP - I don't pray I'm an Atheist - Company just spend around 8K on lawyers on a work permit app for someone. The App was rejected. I really don't feel like blowing that kind of money on lawyers only to lose.
