Now what - what to do when 35 months are up

This is what citizenship means to me: I don't have to spend 2 days of every month sitting in a consulate applying for a visa and spending $100's per month on visas. Voting is something I would like to be able to participate in but it's not nearly as important to me as the former.

Now what - what to do when 35 months are up

I've contacted my MP twice CP MP Willowdale. Each time I sent an email to his MP address and contacted him over FB. He took 3 months to reply to me each time and the reply was a generic "can't help you" So don't waste your time. I've been watching these forums for 3 years and I can't recall a...

Now what - what to do when 35 months are up

So I applied for citizenship in 2011. I got RQ'ed in early 2012 and submitted the RQ within about a month of receiving it. I got a letter to take the test and wrote and passed it in June 2014. Now 3 years are up and no one can tell me when I'm going to see the end of this process. No one has...

For people who received RQ, what do you think is the main reason?

Pre Test RQ, Reason: Extensive travel. The original application forms don't ask much so they have very little to go as far as determining who gets an RQ and who doesn't.

49 months since applying citizenship to St Clair Office

I applied in December 2011 and took the test on in June 2014. Still waiting for any other correspondence. I have no faith in the system. I cannot understand how people who applied last year and were RQ'ed are being processed ahead of people who had applied long ago. There doesn't seem to be any...

Urgent !! New Min required years to get citizenship (4 instead of 3 ) ?

4/6 is much more sensible than 3/4. For people who need to travel a lot any more than 25% of your time out of Canada makes you ineligible in perpetuity. However for 4/6 you can still be out of the country for 33% of the time. Not perfect but better.

Upcoming Citizenship Judge Appointment - Need Advice

Thanks for the reply. By the Koo or Tax tests I would pass. I've never lived anywhere else, only work in Canada and both my spouse and myself reside here. The problem with the physical resident requirement is that it is extremely biased to people based on their situations. If you are required...

Upcoming Citizenship Judge Appointment - Need Advice

So really briefly: I moved to Canada in March of 2005 as an international student. I got PR after I got married in 2009. In December of 2011 I applied for citizenship. I got RQ'ed in March 2012, and wrote and passed the citizenship test in June 2014. When I applied in 2011 I went through my...

Sign petition: Citizenship Act Bill C-24 discrimination

Oh heaven forbid. The CBSA: That group of hard working Canadians that scrutinize us about every purchase because god forbid they don't get another dollar of tax. The CIC that group of hard working people who have taken nearly 4 years to process my citizenship application and are oh-so-helpful...

Denied AFTER the test? Missing days in residence

When I applied neither myself nor CIC knew that I had any days short. A colleague of mine actually applied with the right amount of days and is still waiting for a test date (also dec 2011 application). The joke is that I've almost accumulated another 1095 physical presence days since my...

Denied AFTER the test? Missing days in residence

The fact of the matter is I've been living in Canada for 10 years, essentially my entire adult life. The only reason it took me 7 years to apply is because of the "physical requirement" that I couldn't meet because I had to travel for work purposes while working for Canadian based firms. I...

Denied AFTER the test? Missing days in residence

I'm in the same boat as you. I applied thinking I had the days and some weeks to spare. Unfortunately after my RQ I realized that I had missed a trip (I travel extensively for work and the border people don't always stamp so that trip was missed) and ended up being 1.5 days short. I applied in...
