    Application returned - help!

Because he cannot LIVE in Canada until he receives his PR card. LIVING in Canada without PR status is illegal. He can VISIT me but his residential address remains in the US (again, because he cannot RESIDE in Canada). It's logical. But I guess CIC doesn't follow simple logic.

    Application returned - help!

Thank you. Yes, I will have to go through all of the forms and keep the info consistent. It's such a PITA to have to do it all again :(

    Application returned - help!

I think they updated the IMM008 in November and the photo specifications in December. We signed the papers on December 1 and realized that IMM008 has been updated, so we quickly completed the new version. Two weeks later and I'm sitting with my returned application and while looking for help on...

    Family visa Help

No, you can't just stay here after you apply for your PR. You may apply for an extension of your tourist visa though and if you attach a copy of your application for PR, you shouldn't have a problem getting it :)

    Application returned - help!

OMG I just saw on the forum that they changed the photo specifications. It means we need to take new photos, on top of everything else. I wonder what other changes have they made in the last 2 weeks. I know that one of the forms has been updated in November (I literally had to re-do it on the...

    Application returned - help!

Thanks, guys. It's such a relief that I can come here to vent and get some advice. Earlier today, I felt like I'm going to have a nervous breakdown. Tomorrow, I'll amend the forms and sort the package they sent me. It seriously makes me want to vomit just by looking at the pile of loose pages.

    Application returned - help!

Doesn't make any sense to me but thank you for this explanation. I guess off to re-do the forms. Sigh. I'm beyond frustrated.

    Application returned - help!

Thank you. What is confusing though, is CIC. My husband doesn't LIVE here, he's VISITING. Hence, his residential address is in America and his mailing address is in Canada. I thought it's illegal to LIVE in Canada without status. Pretty inconsistent on CIC's part. Also, I'm not his...

    Application returned - help!

Thank you. Anyone else? I really need to amend it properly, so that we don't encounter any more issues. You might be right but I'm still not sure how that is confusing, since it's mine/the sponsor's address (and not some random address that doesn't appear anywhere else) and it is stated that he...

    Application returned - help!

In the Background Declaration, we put the American address as his most recent address. I mean, that is his residential address. His mailing address is my address in Canada. Not sure why they found it confusing. If this is so important to them, they should provide definitions of "mailing address"...

    Application returned - help!

Sent our outland application 2 weeks ago and they returned it. I'm almost in tears, I'm so upset. Background: I'm sponsoring my American husband, we both are living in Canada. He is staying on a tourist visa, which we intend to extend, once the time comes. In IMM008, as his residential...

Evidence for my daughter being my daughter.(?)

I would think that her birth certificate (which states that you are her parent) is sufficient. I mean, what else would you need? DNA test? haha

Still not clear on Option C

Yes. I have just recently returned to Canada and I'm sponsoring my husband. I didn't file my taxes for 2014 and I'm not providing Option C. I explained that I didn't file my taxes because I was unemployed and didn't have an income (maternity leave). In order to sponsor your spouse, you don't...

Is marraige license a part of required document to be submitted ?

I'm pretty sure it's just a matter of wording and how the document is called where you're from. For example, our document is called "Marriage License and Certificate". In some places, you need to get a marriage license in order to get married and afterwards you get a marriage certificate. You...

    payment questions

Yes you can. It even says on the page there that the credit card holder does not need to be the same person as the sponsor.

How I organized our applcation and a summary of all helpful tips I have learned

For those of you who organized the paperwork in 3 separate envelopes: did you provide the same documents more than once? For example, they ask for proof of relationship in the Sponsored Spouse Questionnaire (so it would go in the sponsored spouse envelope) and then they ask that from the sponsor...

DECEMBER 2015 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

I wouldn't worry. You have already mailed it and they have *just* updated it. I'm sure there's a grace period when they accept old forms. If you're still stressed, maybe give them a call (if you have a couple of hours to spare to stay on hold haha).
