Hi, i just came back from the Canadian Embassy here in Hong Kong. I spoke to a CIC rep over there who told me that i don't have to wait for the police checks before i send in my application. She told me to submit without the checks now, and then when i get them send them in. Just letting...

    Submit Application (pending police checks)

Never had much success in trying to reach CIC via phone here from Hong Kong, so i made a trip to the Canadian consulate yesterday. A three floor office, where i was first sent to 14th floor, then 13th, then to the 12th. On top of that, at the 12th floor i was told to visit the local VAC instead...

    Submit Application (pending police checks)

thank you, where do you see that on the immigration website? I have been trying to find anything that suggest you can apply, then compliment the application (police checks) at a later date. US police checks are currently 4-6 months which is crazy, specially when everything else about my...

    Submit Application (pending police checks)

No problem, definitively something wrong with that website though. Both my home antivirus (ESET5) and work (Norton) rejects it. Anyways, i think the point is that i should wait for all documents to arrive before sending it in.

Tnx Rob_TO, see that in some cases it appears extremely fast. I guess if they arent busy, and if everything is in order (important) it should/can be very quick. Hopefully june/july would be low volume months for them in London so that when my application comes though all goes smooth and fast :)

Swedish marrying Canadian (best way for work visa)

Thanks, and that's what i was afraid off. Having to wait for stage 2 before moving over. If i could check with the HK office and have them process stage 2 (they are usually quite efficient here) nonetheless i would have to wait 9 months before even thinking about moving to Canada.
