Same thing for me, the officer told me the same, I'm going away as well. Soon we get the card.

yeah, me too. at the moment im "a bit" nervous about my pr card arrival. i landed on 3rd November, 62 in my case are over th 4th January 2013. I'm on vacation in germany until 12. January. my friend has to send me my card to germany. if the card doesn't arrive on time i'll lose my ticket...

they requested a copy of my whole passport, which comprises in my case 32 pages, this included the stapled-in Work permit. i just copied it, it "belonged" to the passport IMO. it eventually came back. Anyway, they sent back the Passport identification part, but kept all other 31 pages. Ecas...

hi shaikhaffi, :) i only agree at some point with some stuff you wrote, but i don't want to go into much further details, there are many threads here in this forum who went out of control over this subject,..and we want to keep it clean here. :)

nothing particular...BOTH COPR's, your passport....thats it if i remember right.... and i had to write my address on a sheet of paper for my PR card... i had to write down my funds on my COPR and my initials + signature in front of the Officer....no further questions asked...and welcomed.

I just think that it is not good to contact them and ask them why background checks are taking so long. If they're taking long, then there must be a reason, whether it makes sense to me or not. They might get "suspicious" about why you're asking.....i don't like it in general to "push"...

for background checks there's no time limit! it depends on every file where you stayed, how long, and why....etc... and depending who has to be contacted to get the required information, and how long it takes them to provide this information to CIC, and that is beyond CIC...

I don't know how long it is supposed to take to get there, but i filed a ticket, and got my money refunded! i paid 16$ CanexpressPost Montreal-Windsor 3days tops, and it needed 8days! Money back, thx. :)
