Hey my husband was asked to bring a photo when he surrenders his passportto get his Visa. Never heard of needing a photo. Is this normal and what kind of photo just the same small photos for the application ?

My husband is from Tunisia and his application is in Paris being processed. So the MP can call and they will tell him its in process like what I see online? or can he get more detailed information than just in process? Thanks sooo much
