Marriage fraud - Applied Oct 23

Yeah, it's about 20 or so people that I know of who were approved quickly/without interview. And them relaying back that on their visa pick-up days there were about 20-30 people picking up visas with no interviews/quick processes too. Totally just based in hearsay, nothing official.

Marriage fraud - Applied Oct 23

It was received on the 23rd so like everyone is saying, it appears she's out of luck. Cuba is moving insanely fast right now. People are averaging 2-4 months to being approved since the date they submitted and most interviews are being waived. Our process took over a year last year in Cuba...

So my friend's husband arrived from Cuba recently. And unfortunately it has turned out that he's a complete and total fraud. She applied on Oct 23rd...and the new conditional PR law only came into effect on Oct 25th. Is she completely out of luck and just has to hope he doesn't go on welfare in...

Marriage fraud - Applied Oct 23

So my friend's husband arrived from Cuba a few weeks ago. And it turns out he's a complete and total fraud. She applied on Oct 23rd...and the new conditional PR law only came into effect on Oct 25th. Is she completely out of luck and just has to hope he doesn't go on welfare in the next 3...

Unfortunately that desire to help you do things 'better' increases when they land in 'your world'. There was a lot of back and forth about what is unreasonable criticism and what is helpful. And serious discussion around the idea of 'sometimes it's better to be kind than right'. It felt like my...

It is good...but don't get me wrong, there are definitely insanely hard parts too. Everyone who has been through it warned me that the hard part starts after they arrive, I didn't believe it, thought nothing could be harder than waiting, but it's true. There's strange power struggles that you...

He's doing really well. The first month was a bit hard as he spent a lot of time sitting around doing nothing and then he'd think about his family and get depressed. But once he got his SIN card (we had a weird paperwork issue which caused it to take awhile, I doubt anyone else will have this...

No need to continually drop off new evidence and possibly have your application go back to the bottom of the pile. I have also heard that every time they have to add something new to your file it causes it to be paused for a month. However, I did not realize it was for emails too. Even when some...

I'm late to this medical issue. But definitely don't just go out and get a new medical, I know somebody who did this, trying to be proactive, and it messed up their file. You need to get an envelope with a bar code at the Canadian embassy for a 2nd medical so it relates back to your file. When...

I'm pretty good at worrying about most things but really never considered the possibility that my husband would be denied or worried about that part of the process. Maybe cause I have a cousin who is an immigration officer and happen to have a few IO friends, they are all nice, caring people and...

The 'they can only fly Cubana' myth drives me crazy. You are totally right, they can fly any airline that will issue one-way tickets. It is nothing about leaving the country for the first time...it is just about who will sell them a ticket and none of the charters will do a one-way out of Cuba...

The marriage certificates actually have to be well under 3 months. If he gets a PVE (150CUC), he needs a new marriage certificate for that as well as a new one for Canada when he applies for the PRE here. The one my husband brought was 2 months old when he arrived and he had to get his brother...

What an awful situation? Have you tried contacting this woman to ask her what she said? Obviously she either felt she was doing the right thing or due to her failed relationship now is lashing out at all relationships involving Cuba. Perhaps if you can speak to her and have her retract her...
