I was told to send it to both the CIC Mississauga AND local visa office....I was informed that CIC Miss processes it and informs the local office. But maybe it's different for New York? I'd say best to send it to both offices, NY and Miss. Hope that helps!

We applied outland and I just paid the fee - you can pay it online, then print out the receipt, fill it in (sponsor's details) and send to CIC Mississauga. Then just to make sure everyone is in the loop, I sent a copy of everything AND a letter with sponsor and applicants details - name, birth...

The sponsor's name and info should be on the RPRF receipt :)

Yep, the background check is the last step, but it can take anywhere from a few days to a few months...depending on the application.

We both travelled alot as well, filled up about 2 additional pages...just estimate as best you can, if you have old passports we found those very helpful! I didn't use specific dates just approximate times - month and year of travel.

Just get it...we didn't (because of the notice saying we didn't have to!) and then were asked for it anyways a few weeks after they started processing our application...It only took about a week to get so it's worth it.

I'm sponsoring my common law partner so I completed the form for myself and one for him as well...just figured it couldn't hurt and I'd rather provide them with too much info than too little

I would say go ahead and call the call centre, I've called several times throughout this whole process and have found them to be somewhat helpful - if they can see there is new information on your file they will give you an update if possible - if the visa office hasn't updated the file then...

By the way I just paid mine (and sent info to my visa office) and it was processed by CIC Mississauga in 8 days...even though they say it can take up to 30 or 40 :)

Send the receipt and a letter informing your Visa office (Singapore) that you have paid the fee and have sent the receipt to Mississauga. This just lets them know CIC M is processing it and they will add it to your file. Include your client ID, File No, name/address of sponsor and principal...

Sponsors information should go on the receipt, whatever name is on the credit card doesn't really matter. Cheers, K

They usually say if you bring it in person between 9-10 (or whatever hours specific to that visa office) then they will return it by 3.30pm the same day.

You can only sign in to e-cas once they've started processing your file...

You can pay online if you live in the US, as long as you send the receipt (which will be sent to you via email once you have paid) with the rest of your application to Mississauga. Hope that helps...
