Right of Permanent Residence Fee

My sponsorship application has been approved since July last year from CPC-M and has been transferred to the VO at Port-of-Spain, Trinidad and Tobago which started processing in August, 2009.

I haven't paid my RPRF and I think from reading many other forums that it'd be best to pay the RPRF upfront and save a few months on my application processing.

I am no longer in Canada due to my past immigration record (failed refugee claimant and PRRA). I want to pay the RPRF and was wondering if I can do this on CIC's website under Payment of Fees.

If so, how do I go about the process in terms of letting the specific VO at Port of Spain be informed that I have paid the fees?

Does CIC-M automatically send the invoice down to the VO or do I have to give them specific instructions.

Any help regarding this matter would be highly appreciated. I just don't want to make the wrong move that will cause anymore delays with my application.

From what I know, you cannot pay online for RPR fee for Visa offices outside of Canada.

My visa office is Singapore and I have to make a Bank Draft from a Canadian Bank and send it by mail to the visa office.

Per RobsLuv and others, it appears that the online CIC web page about online fee payment is misleading.

If you are applying family class OUTLAND, you CAN use the online fee payment system to send the Right of PR fee to Mississuaga (even tho the website says its only for inlanders):

The New York Consulate (which had previously given me all sorts of contradictory instructions) confirmed this over the phone to me this afternoon.

If you're family class, I think you should the instructions on the recently-bumped-up thread titled "Help With Online Fee Payments Please". (Instead of trying to click to choose your local consulate as the recipient of the payment, choose Mississauga as the recipient. Pay. And mail the receipt to your local consulate.)

We applied outland and I just paid the fee - you can pay it online, then print out the receipt, fill it in (sponsor's details) and send to CIC Mississauga.

Then just to make sure everyone is in the loop, I sent a copy of everything AND a letter with sponsor and applicants details - name, birth date, address, File number to our visa office (Pretoria). I called the call centre a few weeks after I'd sent everything to check and they had processed it and told the Visa office within 2 weeks of my payment.

ChandlerMare: I was told to send the receipt to my local visa office (New York), not to Mississauga. But you were told something different?

I was told to send it to both the CIC Mississauga AND local visa office....I was informed that CIC Miss processes it and informs the local office. But maybe it's different for New York? I'd say best to send it to both offices, NY and Miss. Hope that helps!

My visa office is Singapore...

When I tried to pay online to "Canadian embassy or consulate outside Canada", it says that you cannot pay online...

"Electronic payments cannot be made for applications that are sent to Citizenship and Immigration Canada processing centres outside Canada.

Thanks guys, I think I will make the payment online and inform both CPC-M and my VO at Port of Spain.

I think no matter what, the fees have to be processed first through CPC-M but it's always a good idea to get everyone in the loop just to keep on the safer side of things.

Mind you, my application has already been sent to the VO without RPRF. I haven't been asked to make any payments but I want to just to save me some extra processing time. So, every situation is always a little different.

ConfusedAndScared and CHandlerMare: that's exactly what i've ended up doing. i just sent a copy to Mississauga, too (noting my client ID #, my sponsor's client ID #, and the file #), even tho the application has been processing in New York for about 6 weeks already (and New York was sent a copy of the receipt, too). Per PMM, etc., I feel pretty confident this will be ok.

PS: Vonster, the consencus is that the online payment instructions are misleading, because that online fee-pay link/function IS to be used by family class applicants, despite what it says on the web page.

Confused... I faxed a copy to KG. JA when i paid mine and sent the orig. to CPC-M just to be sure both places knew it was paid. But CPC-M does forward reciept of payment on to the designated visa office, as i have recieved notification the KG has recieved notice of payment of RPRF fee and it has been noted on my husbands file

I paid the RPR Fee online and I got 2 different receipt.
1 Looks like the official receipts they mailed you (pink) and the other looks like a credit card receipt.

In the official receipt, Do I print my name, my address, my dob and my phone or my father? who is the principal applicant of the PR Application?
